back into a routine?

Well it feels kind of strange to type out an entry again since I haven’t done one the last two days.

I realized this morning, that since it’s now getting cold, I shouldn’t buy all green bananas.  I really wanted to have one with my yogurt for bfast, but they are no where near ready enough to eat; so I just ate yogurt all by itself.

Since I was so exhausted when I got home last night I had to make my lunch today before heading out.  I packed carrots, soup, and fruits.  I also got to have my first cup of coffee from my new bag!  It was good.  I’m thinking tomorrow I’ll put in some pumpkin syrup and or maybe some of the powdered creamer.  BTW I tried to find more of the creamer yesterday and Kroger didn’t have any.  However Wal Mart did have some Torani syrup in a mini bottle that I’m thinking about getting next time I stop by, if it’s there that is.

The day was kind of a haze.  I was just in an ‘I hate the world’ kind of mood.  I don’t think there was a real reason, just foggy is all.

At two, on Monday’s and Wednesday’s, I’ve started trying to leave the room with some errand to help one of my parent’s leave, but it didn’t work.  My CT didn’t change the kid’s diaper; so when I got back after my errand the mom was still there.  Luckily enough she left after the change.

The AT was back in the baby room after her vacation at the beach.  Her little man did not like the sand or the ocean.  Mom said every time they would start to set him down on the sand he would whine and then stop immediately after lifting him up.  I also talked to her about my problems.  She agrees that there isn’t anything wrong with trying to find out the ‘why’ behind my body flow/production versus just taking fertility drugs to create.  She told me she’d give me both of her doctor’s numbers, guess I should talk to the hubby about it, huh?.

The baby room dropped down at four thirty so I was allowed to leave the room and do paperwork (shocker!).  However life happens and I didn’t get out till a quarter till.  I started the LP’s, only got the date done, the theme titled, the ink changed to red to help me later, and update all the art activities for November.

Aaron was home taking a nap when I got off.  He got off around three thirty or so.  He did plan ahead and put the pot back in the crock (ha, funny) to reheat the pot roast for dinner.  We had pot roast burrito’s.  It was yummy too.  I wish I’d put sour cream on mine, but I wanted dessert – give a little to get a little.

Oh yeah I stopped at Piggly Wiggly to pick up some ice cream their paper had advertised, but they didn’t have any.  I guess that’s the universe’s way of telling me I DO NOT NEED the ice cream, yet again.

We finished the most up to date on Netflix season of CSI and started Dexter.  Jeez, what a couple of great shows.  Aaron didn’t remember how the last season of Dexter ended and was shocked about the opening.

That’s all for today.  The high was hubby getting the dinner prep done.

I’m glad you stopped by after by non posts….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Today was Aaron's bday.  I didn't really do too much.  Got up early and shopped, groceries, not clothes.

Got home and started his present.  I attempted to make mountain dew cupcakes with funfetti batter, I was disappointed.  Wish I had made this  instead, oh well.

Then we went to goodwill and to his parents for dinner.

TGIF & doc's appt

Well today was a very weird kind of day.  I had a doctor’s appointment, you know the fun kind!  The one with the metal duck bill.  N-E who, since I had the appointment, which was scheduled at nine, I made my morning a leisure one.  Normally I shower, shave, and primp for this appointment, but for some reason I didn’t feel/want to do it today.  Instead I went about my normal routine.  For bfast I had another take on the banana bread oatmeal with a bit of pumpkin spice syrup.  Before leaving the house I took care f Izzie, started dinner (crock pot potroast) and made/packed lunch.  It took me longer than I thought it would to do all that prep.  I had considered going to Wal Mart to get a new GPS charger and plug thingy for my cigeratte light I blew yesterday, but didn’t have enough time.

When I finally finished all my duties I headed out.  My first stop was at the P.O. down the road.  However it didn’t open till 8:30, and I didn’t want to wait around for half an hour.  So I went to hermitage/donelson and stopped at the Regions on Donelson Pike, but learned that it was only a drive through location.  So I went onto Lebanaon and stopped at the Regions by Kohls (wish I had time to stop and look at boots!).  I had to wait in line for a bit longer than planned and only had a couple of mintues to stop at the P.O.  I wasn’t able to mail mom’s package, I had less than ten minutes to get to my appointment so I headed that way.

I got to the doctor’s office four minutes late, at least according to my appointment time.  I’m not really sure how long I had to wait, but I did get to look at a magazine with some interesting recipes for crock pots.  To simplify how the appointment went, basically if/when I/we decide to conceive I have to go straight into taking fertility drugs.  Basically the doc thinks I don’t ovulate and therefore need the drugs to release the eggs to fertilize.  I was also given the wonderful Sperm Analysis (SA) sheet incase after trying rounds of fertility drugs don’t work my hubby will have to get tested

When I left doc’s office I called my friend who has/is going through her own IF problems (hi and thank you) just to let her know that I was now officially in ‘her boat’.  She’s got lots of friends who have successfully conceived and some accidently.  I wanted her to know that she officially isn’t alone, she no longer has my positive thought, but my emotional feelings as well.  I told her when we decide to start that I’d probably be calling her all the time for support and aid to get through the turmoil.

I cold go on and on about how I felt with the newfound info, but I’ll keep it simply: I kind of knew it was going to be this way.  I’ve only had one real menstral cycle in my life and have always wondered if I ovulate considering I don’t cycle.  I’ve laughed about it all day.  It figures; I’ve gone to such extremes as to avoid getting pregnant accidently and find out the chance of that are EXTREMELY SLIM!!!  I’ve also had the thought that since it’s sorta kinda official that I can’t conceive on my own (at least easily) that now I’m probably going to want kids (that’s how life is, right, you always want what you can’t have).

Well after my appointment I went to the P.O. in Green Hills and mailed mom’s coffee.  Then I went to work.  I got there at 10:30, which was just enough time to call a parent (the one I try to call every Friday), update her contact log, and print and date the necessary sheets for next week.  Then I headed to the Rascals on the playground.  I chatted with the LT in there about the little guy who I think has extreme anger management issues; and she says that he’s doing fine normally and she thinks he only does me that way.  Since we had that conversation I decided to be a hard ass be-yatch to the kid and no longer take his she-yat.  It kind of worked.  I just decided to let him know that it wasn’t okay and that he needs to treat me the same as he does his teacher.

Afterwards I heated up my lunch, the left over ham cabbage dish, and went to the Monkey’s.  I stayed in there till around four or so.  I got to play on the net from twelveish till close to two.  I didn’t do anything real productive, just checked all my messages/emails.  The next couple of hours went really smoothly.  We got the kids up, changed their diapers, and headed outside.  We only got to play on the playground for fifteen minutes.  The HR man had a ‘crew’ (three men) working on completeting the bike lean to thing, so we headed into the gym.  My CT came in and relieved me close to 3:30.

When I left the room I started to work on November’s LP’s.  However I wanted to check with my CT on her opinions so I asked them.  She took the LP’s and was gone for twenty minutes!  I finally called her to see if she was coming back and she said she was on her way.  When she finally came back into the room she told me what took her so long: she changed one thing which means she had to change almost all the schedule for the art stuff.  About this time I also learned that the company is letting our AD go, due to finical reasons.  After she finally came back into the room I headed to the work office and ‘typed’ up my new kid’s IFSP for next Tuesday.  I finished at 4:35, which was only five minutes after my work time.

Once I was officially off the clock I checked my blogs, then my emails, and looked for a new charger for my car.   I couldn’t find the charger, but I’d like to go back to the Hermitage Wal Mart tomorrow and check it out.  I also want to look for jeans, sweater dress, and some boots (as well as West End and Cool Springs).  But I digress.  I finaly took the time to read the email Lindsay sent me about going to the wineries.  She went me seven, I think.  I viewed each winery’s list and didn’t find one that I just didn’t want to go to.  However I think she and her hubby want to do them in a day trip and I’m thinking it might be extremely difficult.  They range for NE of N’ville and end almost W, going clockwise w a total of seven locals.

Well once I was done I came home.  The house smelled wonderful with the pot roast bubbling and hubby making ‘gravy’.  Aaron let me model all my boots and new sweaters I bought over he weekend.  He liked the black tall boots with the lace, but the lace going down instead of up.  he too was undecided on he flat black boots.  I did like the brown ones though.  when I put the black ones on he had the same opinion that Carolyn and I felt: the leather one was better looking with pants untucked and both had their pro’s and con’s with the legs tucked in.  After modeling we had a re-uniting of love.  Then we at dinner.

The pot roast was wonderful!  He put some sweet potatoes in the pot for me and I actually liked the plain potatoes better.  I only asked for the sweet ones b/c I know they have more nutrients than white.  I opened a bottle that hubby bought me from NY and it was amazing with the red meat!  For dessert I attempted to make a coffee/chocolate pumpkin drink.  It wasn’t that wonderful and could definitely use some improvement.  I guess that’s what happens when one uses water instead of milk/cream/ or something fattening.

Well it just hit the ten mark and I’m ready to pass out (did I mention that even though the hubby is back I still had to get up and take care of the dog).  I also really need to cut these damn nails!  Doubtful that I’ll do it tonight, more than likely I’ll do it in the morning.  Right now I really want to go to bed!

My high today would be knowing that it’s official, I have to take IF drugs.  WOO HOO.  It’s not a positive thing, but to know the next step kind of is nice.

Thanks for listening to me tell you about everything today…

summing it up

Not too much to say since it’s late.  I’m home late b/c I had a ladies night with the GNO meetup group.  We ate at Germantown East CafĂ©, formally known as Allium.  I made it there in time to have a HH drink at the bar: pear tree.  It was AH-MAY-ZINGGGG!!!  Pear vodka, St. Germain, and a splash of sparkling white wine.  For dinner I ordered the crab cake app and a side of asparagus.  The free rolls they served were like beignets minus the powdered/crystal sugar.  I also had a new varietal red with dinner, but can’t remember what it was called.  Maybe I’ll check their website and update this post.

High today: the martini!  And meeting the new French girl was fun.

Thanks for reading this paragraph…

open house

It’s ridiculously late again today, so once again forgive me if I’m short or it doesn’t make sense.

I attempted to mix it up again at bfast this morning.  I put pumpkin in the oatmeal.  However this time I mixed the pumpkin with water before putting in the oats.  After nuking it I put in a bit of my homemade pumpkin spice syrup.  I ate a few bites and it needed a little something else so I put in half a packet of hot cocoa.  It was good.  For lunch I ate my green and yellow salad.  I tried the soups the DR and AD brought in, but wasn’t too impressed.  The DR’s had way too many beans in it and the AD was fatty, it had really fatty/chewy bacon in it.  I scooped out from the bottom and it was tasty, but I know it wasn’t ‘diet friendly’.

I had a decent enough day at school, with the kids that is.  I had a good emotional roller coaster today, but I chatted with the hubs about it and feel much better.

We had open house at four thirty and my CT and I ended up staying with our parents till five thirty, which was only half an our past time.

When I got off I headed home to get my goods and Izzie, then went to the inlaws.  For dinner Aunt Linda made some salmon, a wild rice mix, and broccoli.  For dessert we had little baby mini lemon blueberry cheesecake tarts.  FIL made some ‘candy’.  He stuffed dates with nuts and dipped them in Ghiradella chocolate.  He used pecans, pistachios, cashews, and brazil nuts.  I tried all of them except the last, since I don’t like those.

I played on the net and finished viewing all the food sites.  I also tried to find Aaron’s anniversary gift, but had trouble.  The one I really want to get him is way too much money for just that item.

I left their place extremely late and I’m ready to pass out.

High today; hummm, oh I forgot to mention that I modeled my new skirt and picked out a shirt to borrow from Carolyn to wear on Thursday!  That’s my high, getting to wear the new skirt and having a plan with a back up.

Thanks for reading my nonsense again today…

just to keep track

Good morning, day, evening Monday!

Bfast was yummy.  I had my last flavored carbmaster, cherry, and a banana.

The day was all right.  We were low in numbers which made things go smoothly.

Oh my goodness, I’m not sure if there was really anything to talk about or tell you.

I had a really good dinner: left over zucchini quinoa lasagna and hot pumpkin cocoa with pumpkin biscotti.  I did make really good decisions and didn’t bust my quota.

Lame, but that’s it for today.

High: that it was an easy Monday!

Thanks for reading this shortness…

start of a new week

I had another pretty productive day, not as much as yesterdays, but good enough.

I didn’t sleep well again last night, of course.  Izzie needed out about two-ish and then I woke up at seventy thirty.  I relaxed until close till eight and then did my usual Sunday routine.  There wasn’t too much that dad and I talked about.  Then I called mom and got the recipe for Mountain Dew cake.  I’m not sure I like the recipe, but I’m going to look at FG and compare.

I left the house thinking I’d go to Dollar Tree, but decided I didn’t NEED to so I headed two Aldi’s.  However on my way I hung a left and stopped at Big Lots.  I only picked up three movies and Bob Mill (I think that’s the ‘man’) 7 grain hot cereal (3PPs).  I tried to go in Essex and Citi Trends, but they didn’t open till noon.

From there I made it to Aldi’s.  I managed to keep my indulgences in check and only bought three bags of Pumpkin Spice Coffee (one for me, one for Carolyn, and one for mom) as well as three more cans of pumpkin (it’s good till 2014).

Then I went to Penny’s.  I got there thirty minutes before they opened and just hung out in my car and looked at a magazine.  I went looking for boots and got distracted by red dots.  I searched through all kinds of racks with red dots.  I found/bought one skirt that I absolutely love! and two shirts, one brown and one a maroon color that’s fitted with a stretchy belt.  I’m thinking it’s going to look really good with the brown boots I got yesterday.  I looked at boots there, but they were sort of high for the place.

Next I headed to Payless, didn’t find anything, and Bath and Body Work and V.S.’s to exchange scents.  I exchanged pearberry and got a spiced cider and water lilly (not sure those are the names, but oh well).  Before leaving the mall I swung by Rack Room and didn’t find anything there either.

After leaving the mall I finally made it to Target.  I was only going to look for a cream colored blouse to go with the brown skirt since Carolyn’s went so well, but found six (maybe seven) sweaters.  They were all $15.00 each.  The first three were soooooo soft and comfy.  Then I got two that have argyle print, one black one green, and a solid green one.  I think there’s a solid purple too, but can’t be sure since I’m not looking at the bag.  I stopped and looked at their boots too, but only found one pair I like, but it wasn’t in my size.  Not too mention it was awfully similar to the two I bought yesterday and ten bucks more.  Before heading out I saw all their coffees.  No I didn’t buy any, but I was extremely tempted (sigh).

Finally I made it to DSW.  I headed to the discount shoes first.  I really think my foot may have shrunk just a little.  The majority of seven’s I tried on were a wee bit too big and the six and a halves fit perfect (I think?).  I found a pair of boots, very Mary Poppin’s style and I walked around with em’ for a little, but ended up putting them back before leaving.  I did find the PERFECT pair of black dress boots (Nine West), but they were $120.00 (which of course is marked down from their website), and I just couldn’t pay that for something I’m only going to wear occasionally.  So I left empty handed.

I chatted with Ashley on the way home.  She was going to have cake with a co-worker.  I wanted to invite her over and get her opinion on my boots, but now I’m thinking I’ll just go with what Caroyln and I decided b/c it makes the most sense.  I’d like to mention that, even though I went shopping without her yesterday (not for the lack of trying since I’ve asked her a dozen times to go and she always had something else to do), she mentioned that she bought two pairs of boots for herself on Wednesday from Off Broadway (I really wish the one we had in Opry Mills was open or replaced – she bought hers at the place in the ‘boro).

Back here at the house I skipped making lunch.  I should have got carrots, celery, and cucumbers @ Aldi’s.  Instead I went straight into making dinner, super easy: heated up some yummy Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato soup.  A little later I plan on making another hot drink with some biscotti or other cookie.

High today: adorable $15.00 sweaters.

Thanks for showing an interest in my shopping excursion…

my new boots!!!

Today was a pretty amazing day.  I got to sleep in till eight thirty or so!  That’s late for me.  I just relaxed for a little while.

I was out of the house by eleven, after settling the dog in and packing lunch.  I went to 100 Oaks to shop.  I spent forever in Burlington and came out with two pairs of boots.  I’m not so sure about the black pair.  Before finding them I overheard the salesman tell another person that he thought the high boots weren’t the best first impression.  I’m worried they look too much like Pretty Woman boots, not leather but suede.  I was in there for a really really really long time digging through all the mess.  Before leaving I went through the rest of the store quickly.  I picked up one of mom’s x-mas presents.  I’m thinking about trying it out before giving it to her just to make sure it works.

My belly was rumbling so I sat in the car and ate my salad.  Then headed into Ross’s.  I bought an eighteen pack of cookie cutters and a seven pack of nail polish.  I’m not so sure I’m going to keep the polish.  I need to try it out and see what I think about it.  I also found three more boots, two black and one brown that I think is my favorite without question.  Of course I looked around the rest of the store.  I saw some coffee that I almost bought but waited b/c Aldi’s was cheaper.

By the time I was done in there it was a little before six and I needed to go to IL’s before they left for the Pred’s game.  She helped me narrow down my choices from the tall boots.  The suede knee highs were nixed since they were suede.  The second knee high leather’s were nixed too b/c the expensive pair had the lace.  It looked better standing up and folded down.  We were both still undecided about which flat black pair to keep.  She also helped me find a shirt to go with one of the brown skirts I have in my closet.  She has a gorgeous orange shade cow’s neck sleeveless shirt and a neat cream colored fuzzy long sleeve sweater that falls off the shoulder a little.  I thought about wearing it to the dinner on Thursday, but she doesn’t think she’ll have it adjusted by then.

After bagging it all back up I checked my email, just to make sure there weren’t any deals I didn’t want to miss out on (like the LS deal for the Grand Wine Tasting I now don’t get to go to).  There wasn’t.  When I left there I had time to stop at Aldi’s.  I picked up a bag of dried apricots (2PPs) and some walnuts.  I stopped just for pumpkin spiced coffee and honeycrisp apples, but the coffee was all sold out.  I was fortunate enough to get some apples.  I bought two bags!

I made it home in the time frame I wanted (eight hours from leaving the house).  For dinner I made some white rice and finished off the last of my leftovers from the Thai place.  I watched Chocolat while eating.  For dessert I enjoyed a mixed drink: one fourth of the toffee coffee powder with pumpkin spice syrup and a splash of coffee liquer; with biscotti.  It was okay.  I could actually taste the pumpkinyness (real word I swear), but there wasn’t as much toffee as there usually is with the drink mix.  Maybe next time indulge in the points and have two parts.

Now it’s time to call the hubby before bedtime.

High today: all the amazing boots!  (I bought them all and plan on taking the ones I don’t want back to the stores)

Thanks for stopping by and finding out all my excitement…

TGIF

Today wasn’t all that terrible.  I got to school first, silly dog had me up at three!  I didn’t want to leave that early, but I felt myself getting a tad bit sleepy so I had to get up and leave.

My CT called out, which I expected she would.  She was feeling bad the last couple of days and I even asked her yesterday if she thought she was going to come to school today.  She said she was going to go to the doctor after work yesterday, but didn’t.  Later in the day I called her and found out she had kidney stones, which is strange b/c I though only males got those.

The rest of the day was easy enough too.  I played with the Rascals for an hour.  Taped up pictures for fifteen minutes.  Then I went up the hill and got some BBQ that IBM served for us.  The man made an apple crisp this ear and it was dee-freakin’-licious.  After lunch I played with the babies for a little bit.  Next up I had to go back to the Rascals, since the LT in there left at one.  I chatted with the semi-new LT from the Lions class and learned a few interesting tid bits.  Before the kids woke I called the ladies who run the Franklin Wine Festival.  She told me to call back later during the day so she could ask her boss and make sure she’s telling me the right things.  Now that the kids were up I had to pay attention to them.  It wasn’t that bad at all!  We had a fun circle time and then show and tell.  Next up was outside time.

I called the FWF lady as soon as I got in my car.  She upset me tremendously, not on purpose or anything, but I was sad.  She basically told me I’d waited too long to call and that the boss lady has already sent in the head count and I couldn’t get in on either seminar tomorrow.  Need less to say since I couldn’t get those I’m not going to any of them.  It costs just as much to purchase a ticket to the grand tasting and the two seminar’s as it did for the bundled package.

I went to my IL’s for dinner.  We had homemade chicken noodle soup and watched one of my all time favorite movies!  My MIL loved it too!  After the first movie I tried to play on my FIL’s laptop while watching another movie with them but it didn’t work, so I came home.

It’s late and I’m pretty much ready for bed, other than calling my hubby.

High today: knowing that MIL loved the movie too.

I appreciate you reading about my Friday…

a night of craftiness

Today was all right.  Nothing super special nothing terrible either.  I woke up just ten minutes early which got me to work at the same time.  How did that happen?  My bfast took a bit longer than ususal.  I attempted to make pumpkin pie flavored oatmeal.  It wasn’t that great, not sure if I’ll try it again or not.  Kind of dull and I had to add sweetner a few times.  I checked the Scentsy magazine and relooked over the wine stuff and horse getaway thingy I want to purchase.

When I got to work I called the lady about the wine festival and left a message.  She called me back around 10:30, but of course I couldn’t answer it at the time.  She wasn’t available anytime the rest of the day but said I could call back tomorrow.  I saved an alarm on my phone and hope t goes off so I can remember to call her, I really really really want to go to the grilled cheese pairing the most!  I also printed the list of wines that are being offered for tasting at the big event, it was ten pages!

As I was finishing I noticed on one of my meetup sites an event for books and stuff, but didn’t have time to finish reading – not anywhere close!

The class went fine.  We only had six friends.  My little guy who had a rough day on Tuesday had a way better day today!  I talked with mom and we may have found a way to help him transition, esp. the rough patches.

Today was one of our kids last day and mom brought in homemade cupcakes.  They had the cutest little decorative sticky things in it.

After all the kids left I suggested/requested my CT help clean/tidy up while I cleaned the table.  She actually did it!  I think it’s a shame that I had to ask a grown woman to help clean and take responsibility for our shared space.

On my way to the baby room the DR and AD stopped me to ask a couple of questions, which got me to the next destination five minutes late.  When I got ready to leave the baby room the AT in there asked if I could stay a little bit more since I came in late.  Well of course I didn’t really care, I’d much rather stay in the baby room than play with the big kids (at least on Thursday’s).  However I left ten minutes later, not five.  Luckily enough the next teacher didn’t say anything to me about it.  I didn’t even stop and go potty.

I was pleasantly surprised that being in the Rascals room wasn’t as rough as it is regularly.  From there I headed to the Giraffes and played for twenty minutes.  That’s when the DR called and asked me to play in the baby room.  SOOO I spent the last forty minutes with five babies.  It was an easy peasy afternoon.

I called the hubby after work and he had a wonderful idea for dinner: bfast foods, not the quick kind, but an omelet!  Back at the house I fixed lunch for tomorrow while he made his dinner and then made mine.  I had an omelet with onion, yellow pepper, and salad (spinach and other greens) with a slice of turkey sausage on the side.

We are watching the other Netflix dvd.  I’ve entertained myself with removing all the sticky residue from my jars for my SD gift tomorrow and now I have to clean the goo be gone for safety.  Between show and cleaning I had two biscotti and a cup of hot chocolate spiked with pumpkin spice syrup.  Still not impressed with it.

The high today would be getting the jars cleaned and looking forward to filling em’ and handing em’ out.

Thanks for listening to my day again…

day two down!

Well today was another rollercoaster of a day.

I slept peacefully and didn’t get up too awfully early.  My CT was out again, but that was to be expected (she’s still at her training).

Today was a bit rougher than yesterday.  One of the kids on my case, who has semi severe Autism, came back after being sick for a week.  He still wasn’t quite up to par, but he tolerated most routines.  He only really got worked up when I insisted he participate in structured activities.

The twins did well!  At the end of the day the parents didn’t linger too much!

I went to the inlaws after work and made this recipe I found online a while back.  It was wonderful! and will be repeated.  I over heard Carolyn tell Linda that she’d make it again and slice the veggies thinner and add cottage cheese for creaminess.  I agree about cutting the veggies thinner, not sure bout the extra cheese, I kind of liked it the way it was.  One of the biggest changes I did was not use a jar of marinara.  I mixed Wal Mart’s brand f tomato sauce with Italian diced tomatoes and tossed in a handful of diced bell peppers.  I really liked it and hope I remember the next time we have pasta with red sauce.

For dessert I made something simple: pumpkin spiced pudding served with my homemade biscotti and a dollop of cool whip.

While hanging out over there I played online.  I read all my blogs, checked for some t-shirts for the hubby, and pinned a couple of things.

I left at nine, when Aaron called and told me the wonderful read sarcastically news about his job.  Yes I’m complaining again!  His schedule went from working out of town at Atlanta through Sunday to now being there till Thursday!  When I got home we had a talk, we have lots of those, and I’m really working on staying calm and collected while expressing feelings.

I’m ready for bed now.

The high for today: the wonderful recipe, thanks bloggie friend.

I’m glad you stopped in to read today, you should really try the recipe!!!

one day down, one more to go

Today was a much better day than I thought it would be.  My CT was out, but the kids were AH-MAY-ZING!  It helped that we were down two friends, but still I had a good day.  The floater was super helpful too.

I didn’t cheat too much foodwise, just a few cheese its.

For dinner we had Hawaiian Burgers: ground chuck (should have been basted w teriyaki) with grilled pineapple, fresh avocado, on Hawaiian bread.  Delicious.  It will be repeated.  It was a pretty high point valued meal: 15PPS, 7 for the bun – 7 for the beef – and 1 for the avocado.

What a boring day, huh?

The high today would have to be hubby’s burger idea.

Thanks for reading the boring days too…

HAPPY, at least today!

Today has been a pretty amazing day; I was SOOO productive!

It started out a little bit rocky thanks to my wonderful hubby.  For some strange reason his alarm was set on his phone and it went off while I was still actually sleeping.  It wouldn’t have been too big of a deal except for the fact that he hit the f’n snooze button five times!  On the fifth time I snapped and asked him to turn the thing off and stop hitting snooze/dismiss.  I got to ‘sleep’ in till seven fifteen.

After showering I put my clean laundry away and started another load as well as tidied up the guest bead room a smidge.  Then I called dad.  We didn’t talk about too much.  He finally got to set up, or maybe he’s going to this week, one of the two deer stands I got him last year for x-mas.  We also talked about his new connection for fresh duck.  This guy he used to work with BIL huts duck for pleasure but doesn’t care about eating/keeping the meat.  The guy said he’d give it dad, but that he’d have to clean it himself.  That’s pretty awesome!  His other ‘hook-up’ he had to fair trade fish and deer.

When our phone call ended I started myself a cup of coffee.  I added the new pumpkin spice syrup I bought yesterday, and once again I wasn’t that impressed.  Then I woke up the hubs.  He put my stuffed animals in the attic and bought me down the last pair of gloves to wear so I wouldn’t scuff my new nail design.  Then I went into the kitchen and started multi-tasking.  I baked a version of this recipe and washed 13 old wine bottles.  The biscotti turned out yummy!  I used part AP flour and whole wheat, egg substitute, allspice instead of cloves, a mix of sun crystals and brown sugar, pumpkin spice syrup instead of vanilla, and put in add ins at the end.  I split the recipe to make two loaves and in one loaf I put craisins and chocolate morsels; in the other I added chocolate morsels and pine nuts.  After they cooled I drizzled an icing made out of the vanilla caramel butter cream mixed with the new syrup.  Closer to the end of the day I sampled them and LOVE the one with the craisins.  The pine nuts didn’t really stick into the batter really well and I found several on the silpat mat.

Aaron helped me finish cleaning the bottles and I iced the biscotti and then we headed to his parents to cut the bottles.  Before getting there we stopped at Burger King.  I had a coupon for a free order; four piece, of chicken nuggets for free, no purchase or anything, just straight out free!  He used the coupon for get a free tendercrisp with the purchase of a value meal.  They were also running a special: a free cone with any VM purchase, but the soft serve ice cream machine wasn’t working due to how many they had served.  I wonder if all the BK’s are running that special?  I ate my chicken and half the fries and a few bites (six maybe) of his sandwiches.  Then he let me finish the last few b/c he was full.

Once our bellies were full we started the new task of cutting the class bottles.  I won’t go through all 13 and how excitied it wasa, but I will let ya know that the first three were a bust, followed with one success, another bust, six successes, one more bust, and one more success.  The last one was pretty exciting; we had messed up scoring (is that the correct tense for scour?) and had to re-scour farther down the bottle close to the bottom.

With eight bottles successfully cut I’m pumped for the next bunch I need to do.  Not looking forward to sanding, but I am to the decorating.  Aaron was pretty tickled with how well they turned out too.  I was getting ready to toss out the tops and had an awesome idea: make an individual her garden using them in a big plantern.  Carolyn was excited and said she’d keep em’.  Next I sat w Dickie and talked photography.  I learned a few interesting tidbits, the most being that a camera has got to be calibrated to the owner’s eye so they can have a better focus point on shots.

As soon as we got home I tasted my biscotti (I kind of want one now, but know I don’t need it and would feel miserable afterwards if I did – do not go get biscotti, do not go get, do not go get).  Then I cleared the counter and stored the cookies.  For dinner I opened the roasted pepper and tomato soup I got from Aldi’s.  It’s delicious and I’m soooo glad I got it.  The only down side is the box says to consume within seven days after opening.  I thought Aaron was going to have sop and grilled cheese, but he opted for pizza.  I hope I can consume the whole box b/4 it goes bad.

We watched the last two episodes of season two of Hero’s.  For dessert I had a cup of hot chocolate with two caps of pumpkin spice syrup.  The drink smelled flavorful, but that was it, not really a pumpkin-y taste :’(.

I didn’t make lunch for tomorrow.  I do know we are supposed to have Hawaiian burgers for dinner (about 10 to 12PPs) and I’m thinking for bfast I’m having oatmeal (4PPs) which means lunch can only be around 5PPs.  I need to figure out the value for the buns and then decide on lunch.

We started a new movie and there’s some chick, an Asian one, that I recognize, but can’t figure out where I’ve seen her to save my life – check IMDB.

My high today: biscotti and bottles!

Thanks for wondering how the beginning of my week went, lets hope tomorrow isn’t awful w/out my CT.

to be or not to be? (happy that is)

Right now I’m not in the greatest of moods so forgive me if it’s shown in this entry.

I slept in an hour after the hubby left (that’s till seven if you’re wondering).  Then I got up and showered and primped a little.  Since it was closer to a brunch time rather than bfast I just ate some yogurt.  It was good and I’d eat it again.

Around ten thirty, I decided it was time to go about my day.  I called the inlaws to see if they needed anything, they didn’t, and I headed out.  I went to Sinker’s.  I found several things that were of interest but only bought two.  At the register they had mini bottles of stuff at 2 for a 1.00 and I got two bottles of a tres leche cream liqueur that I can’t wait to put in coffee.  The other thing I got was this wonderful, seasonal bottle of (hopefully) yumminess.  I like that there are four recipe ideas attached.  From there I went to Kroger.  I broke down and bought bananas and Drano; I hate despise buying these two items from here, mainly anywhere else other than my local one stop shop.  Most places charge more for the cleaner and every time I buy the fruit from somewhere else it spoils way faster.  On my way out I broke down and bought some baked goods, I told myself it was for a good cause: the funds went to breast cancer awareness.  I bought a baggie of two butterscotch cookies and a baggie with a large chess square for Aaron.  Each was just a buck.  The last stop before their place was Good Will.  I tried to return the Vader mask I bought last week, but could not.  I’m supposed to exchange, but didn’t feel like trying to find an item for 1.50.  I asked if I could get a giftcard with the monetary amount, but they only do it for denominations over 10.00.

When I got to their place I ate lunch, leftovers, then tried to cut the bottles.  I only tried two of the three; I didn’t want to mess up the flat bottomed one.  Afterwards I went into the ‘office’ and played on the internet.  I finally made it through all my back logged recipes!  OMG, it’s been sooooooo long since I’ve seen it say 0!

Aaron got off around six or so and when he got home gave me a shout.  I got here bout seven.  The reason I’m so pissy is b/c his boss said that she didn’t know if he could get off for our anniversary weekend.  She said they are booked up pretty much till the end of November.  If they hired someone else than maybe he could have off, but it wasn’t a guarantee.  I just don’t understand how if they know there is a job, why they can’t just schedule the manpower they have and let him off.  It drives me absolutely fucking batty that their schedule is literally daily changing.  I mean for crying out loud do I need to retell yesterday’s story?  So now he supposed to ask if there are any weekends he can be guaranteed off and I’ll try to get that one too and schedule a zip tour for that weekend (BTW I can’t remember if I mentioned this or not but the company is open till the end of November and we can only book a date where there is a group of six or more going b/c they won’t open for tour of less than six people).  If there isn’t any weekends I’ll have to take someone else.  Then it comes down to the question of do I charge the other person or just take em’?

I wasn’t really hungry for dinner since I drank so much coffee while playing on the net.  All I ate tonight was a string cheese and an apple with pb.  TASTY, almost like a healthier version of a caramel apple.

I’m tired and ready to go to bed now.

My high today: hubby not having to work tomorrow.

Thanks for listening to me bee-yatch bout the hubby’s predicament…

TGIF!

Well today started out much better than it is right now as I’m currently writing this.  But I jump ahead on you and myself.  This morning I made another version of banana bread oatmeal.  This one was much better!  I added a little bit of vanilla and a small spoonful of brown sugar.  However I did add too much nutmeg so it was a little spicier than it should have been.  Next time I’ll sprinkle less spice than I did today.  Hubby left at sixish and I tried to get him to try a bite but he gave me the line of ‘eating this early makes my tummy sick’ and passed.

I had to be at work and clocked in early, 7:30 and open the baby room today.  Not a huge deal, since I usually arrive early anyways.  It just left my mails and blogs unchecked.  I was fortunate enough to print off the necessary notes required for next week.  I also viewed and pinned a few new items on my new favorite site.

Once the teacher arrived to relieve me I headed to the kitchen and made a fresh pot of coffee.  By now it was eight thirty, which is thirty minutes later than I usually have, which means thirty minutes minus my paperwork time!  Well I like to make the coffee at school on Friday’s so I can have a couple of cups while working.  Today though I also had to change out the water cooler and it made a rather large mess so there went another fifteen minutes of my time.  Speaking of time I realized today that a good portion of my time on Friday’s, mainly every other one is spent washing the damn laundry b/c my CT hardly ever helps (usually only when I ask her to or mention that I didn’t get it done, I almost feel like a mother or wife of an unhelpful husband).

I know that last paragraph sounds kind of bitchy, but I was able to complete my monthlies, even though they were crappy and short and very non descript as well as filed the weekly sheets as well as got rid of last fiscal year’s paperwork and file all the ones since August.  I got them completed, printed, copied, and filed!  Pretty proud of myself, especially considering that there were eight this month instead of just six (or maybe five like last month).  I also called the parent I try to have a weekly contact with on Fridays, but she wasn’t available, nor did she call me back.  After typing/printing/filing I had about ten minutes left so I checked my email and viewed a few more ideas and pinned them before heading the Rascals.

They were already on the playground, like they should be but haven’t been the last few Friday’s.  I kept them there for fifteen minutes and then headed inside I was looking forwards to enjoying lunch again like last Friday, but there were ten kids today instead of just the easy six.  Also there was a new kid with extreme special needs which made it a bit less fun and easy.  They were extremely obnoxious and loud during lunch today.  Instead of letting them be loud and play till five till I called it quiets at ten till!  I was an extreme hard ass from the outside looking in, but I’ve felt like dookie myself the last few days and didn’t have much voice so I was short an abrupt.

For lunch I enjoyed my salad and completed checking my emails.  I got this one from the Saucy Sister’s and forwarded it to Ashley in hopes she wants to go with me.  It’s supposed to a fund raiser thing where everyone opens a bottle at 5:45.  It’s only ten bucks and we get a signed copy of their book if we register in advance.  The time is the iffy part for me, the event is in Franklin on a Thursday and I don’t get off till five.  As of right now I haven’t a clue whether she’s interested in it or not, all I now is she had a bad week and is headed, maybe there, towards Memphis to go spend some time with her mom.

I played with the babies after my lunch break and chatted with the DR for a little while.  We talked about training hours.  I said something about my CT always going to the interesting ones and not relaying them very well, at least for me to understand.  She said that she had asked the CT to present the info at the next in-service as well as wanted to make sure that she told me especially right away (BTW she is going to a two day training the beginning of next week and I’m not looking forward to it).  N-E-ways, she (the DR) said that my CT had reached her training requirements, sort of, and thought that the next few trainings that came up she would mention to other teachers who they would be helpful for.  I said something about I’ve looked for fun and interesting things but they are always inconvenient.  She mentioned two: one on a half day on a Saturday and one on the day of our Fall Festival, which I might not even be here for!  I also checked with her about playing with the Giraffes at 1:30 instead of the Lions since they were in ratio and I’d asked them earlier about working out the time between themselves.  She was okay with it.

The down side about the baby room: when I got there three of the four babies were asleep.  Two of them woke up quickly and only had been asleep for about fifteen minutes.  Up side: even though they had short naps they weren’t too terribly fussy and the hour went by super quick.

Afterwards I headed to the Giraffes and played with the LT in there for about ten minutes.  Then my CT showed up.  We at snack and played in the room for about twenty minutes, tops and then went outside.  While we were outside the AT came back and relieved me to go to the next room.

I thought I was going to have to be in there by myself, but wasn’t.  There was actually one too many kids since they had a new friend transition from the baby room this week.  So the AT and I spent time together talking about life, doing laundry (me), and coloring (her and the kids).

At four twenty I officially clocked out and played on the net.  I copied and printed a handful of recipes for biscotti.  I’m glad I stayed.  One of my subscribed bloggers posted a pumpkin biscotti.  So I’m going to mix and match the ones I like!  Can’t wait.  I’m either going to do it tomorrow or Sunday, depending on what I feel like and what goes down.

I only got to stay and play bc hubby got home by five.  When I got home he, the hubs, told me that he may have to work on Sunday.  This caused a bit of a tiff btwn us.  He tied to be cheesey and fake and say that he wanted to spend time with me on Sunday.  (this isn’t making too much sense, but I’m not sure how to explain it)…..
Last night we talked about his weekend schedule.  He was supposed to work tomorrow and be off on Sunday.  I thought about going to Paris this weekend depending on his work schedule.  Since he should get off at a decent hour on Saturday and would be at home (minus doing the yard work) on Sunday and we would have some quality time (the first in two weeks).  Well he tried to say something about spending time together, with me on Sunday and I replied something along the lines of ‘it’s not a super huge deal anyways.  It’s not like we would really be spending time together anyways sense he’d sleep in till noon or so and then get up and do yard work and I’d probably be grocery shopping so by the time we actually got to have time together it would be btwn four and five’.  All this nonsense basically boils down to my reaction hurt his feelings and he was insulted and thought I was being mean (basically – I’ve had a couple of glasses so it’s kind of hard to get this down, not to mention it’s hard anyways to record a conversation verbatim).

Well we still aren’t sure he’s going to work on Sunday, but think he will.  Boo!!!!  I should have just gone to Paris.  I could still go in the morning, but I really like to go the night before so I can spend lots of quality time with mom.  Also I thought I was going to go shopping with AM and I called the in-laws and they are supposed to help me tomorrow with some craft projects as well as me playing on their net!

While Aaron got dinner ready and fixed it I painted all my fingers different colors and mixed and matched trying to find the colors I want to use this weekend to paint my nails.  I kind of wish my orange was a bit darker, but it worked really well with the water marbling I did last weekend (I should really post some pictures somewhere!).

For dinner we had grilled salmon and broccoli.  Aaron had broccoli and cheddar rice while I had wild rice.  My dinner, itself, came out to be 7PPS, and I had two glasses of white wine total.

I didn’t really eat dessert other than a small piece of chocolate.  Hubby started falling asleep around 8:30 while watching our newest season on DVD so he put his ‘nasty’ in a little early.

That puts us to know and I don’t really have much left to say that would make sense (wine and tiredness make a nice combo ; )’
High today: being able to get copies of biscotti to make this weekend.

Thanks for listening to the nonsense of a Friday after my indulgence….

cupcake heaven

Today was another not so good looonnggg day!

I don’t know why I’m feeling so awful.  I changed the filter this weekend and felt better almost immediately.  I felt fine Sunday through Tuesday but yesterday and today was awful.  I didn’t have a voice and could barely breathe without choking/coughing.

I learned a new sign today: pumpkin (letter p tapped on left hand in a fist).  I used several basic signs to communicate and had to whisper in peoples ears all day.  When one of the parents picked up he asked if I was tired.  When I told him yeah he said I looked like it.  How are you supposed to take that? – you look like shit? Or maybe ‘I can tell you don’t feel well and should rest up’?  Anyways I think it blows that a parent noticed and commented but all the other people I work with just ignore the uncomfortableness I’m going through.  Speaking of people who ignore signs; a parent yesterday commented about how I didn’t have a voice and how I was feeling and then preceded to ask me a dozen questions about her kid!  I know parents want to know what goes on during the day, but when you literally just get done commenting on how hard it is to talk you’d think the parent would get the hint.

Whoa, I digressed.  Back to today.  The child of the AT in the infant room got sick and had to take him home.  Which also means she’ll be out tomorrow.  I’ve noticed that moms are always responsible for keeping sick kids and packing lunches, what’s up with that?!?!?!  I think it’s even stranger since dad was sick too.  When I was told, the person who told me said that dad was at home sick already, but they were wrong the dad had gone into work sick b/c he had meeting.  Ideally, if Aaron and I have children, we would take shared responsibility of who has to stay home sick (except if one parent made way more than the other and couldn’t miss or work OR in Aaron’s case he doesn’t get sick pay, but I would).  Speaking of shared responsibility when Izzie ‘asked’ to go out this morning I pushed (not really of course) him out b/c I’ve let her out the last two or three mornings!  Guess I should talk to him about taking turns huh?  But of course turn taking isn’t always the way life will roll, some days he’ll have to get up earlier or had a long day.  I don’t know why I’m complaining, I should be thankful that Izzie is still with us and not having accidents in the house.

Did I digress again?  Shame on me.  Well back to school: the DR came in around 2:20 and sort of almost told me I had to stay and close the baby room.  At first I thought she was just asking and I of course had to check to make sure I had home support and told her so, but then she said something along the lines of ‘last time I asked if you could, but today I need you/or you have to’ (I’m not a hundred percent sure of the wording since I realized it a moment or two after she left).  We all got lucky since Aaron and his parents were both in town and his mom was able to let her out within the hour.  The plus side of this was I got to stay in the baby room till five thirty.  I was really dreading going into the Rascals with no voice and feeling like a pile of muck.

Closing the baby room was actually really easy.  There were only three babies.  Two of them slept and the third one and I just had cuddle time and he drank a bottle.  I actually was able to turn the lap top on and check my email and a couple of pins.  Illegal – I KNOW!!!  But I was really bored just staring at the sleeping babies.  Mind you I didn’t play long since the third one woke up, just under ten minutes incrementally.

I beat hubby home and started dishes and making lunch for tomorrow: salad, carrots, and three fruits.  Since Aaron wasn’t super hungry so we ate our own dinners.  I took the left over mac and cheese portion and mixed it with steamed cauliflower (the end of the head).  It was little bland so I sprinkled some garlic salt and a little parmesan cheese on it.  Then it was too salty so I dashed a bit of crushed red pepper.  Damn it, it was spicy!  I think it would have been super yummy with less salt and pepper and little bit creamier.  For dessert I indulged in the last chocolate cupcake with chocolate fudge filling and chocolate chunks.  Man was that a wonderful chocolatey heavenly cupcake.  I’d pay for one of those suckers.  I think it came from this place.  I texted Tiffany that this place needs to be has to be on the cupcake tour (OMG I just figured out how to do this!).  One of these day’s I’m going to figure out how to or what kind of chocolate it is that does that (not melt).  Oh yeah, I also fixed the silly pumpkin spice syrup I made on Tuesday.  I put it back in a pan and added more sugar.  Now it’s a syrup and sticks to the spoon the way it supposed to.  I probably won’t try the flavor till Saturday but I’m glad it looks more syrup-y.  However it’s a bit darker than the pictures other people of posted.

That’s all folks, ha!

High today: fixing the syrup.

Thanks a bunch for reading through all my nonsense…
