should I be happy bout the changes?

Well today was decent enough.  Izzie woke me around two so she could go potty and I went back to bed.  Then she woke me up again about twenty b4 the alarm.  I tried to get her to climb into bed but she wouldn’t or couldn’t.

Bfast was tasty; I realized how much I miss eating the berry yogurt combo.  I started the random book I picked up at the library this morning.  I only got a few chapters in and am torn btwn what I think.  It seems interesting enough but some of the language/wording causes me to reread statements.  Before heading out the door I remembered to make a cup of joe.  It was excellent!  I’m glad I ground up beans last night; it wasn’t as daunting as a task as usual.

I actually made it all the way through all emails and blogs!  So when lunch rolled around I started looking at the recipes again!  Six down, five hundred forty plus more to go!  (too many exclamation points?)

The day was good.  Our newest friend tried and was successful on one occasion biting a classmate.  He has a goal on his IFSP about not biting and he hasn’t really done it at school until today.  He tried two times and was successful on the third and final attempt.  Mom said she saw it coming and wanted to jump in and let us know and stop it but didn’t, thank you mom.

My CT and I had our monthly consultation with the twin’s parents till 3:15.  I think it went well.  The parents definitely need guidance on parenting and ways to play and teach consequence to their kids.  I’m not going to ramble and rant about my opinion, only b/c I really want to read, but seriously – you intentionally got pregnant and you don’t have much clue about what to do with children?  Shouldn’t you have thought more about it?  Maybe taken a couple of parenting classes?

Of course I got to play with the babies and then twos until I had to leave.  While playing in the twos I gorged on the damn cheddar chex mix!  I have no will power.  I made up for it at dinner time though.  I only ate a veggie plate with protein and one truffle for dessert.

I finished the disc of Numb3rs I started last night and then called the hubs.

I really wish that there was something worthwhile to enter in these entries.  I started the blog as a way to rant and I’m pretty content with things right now.  Most of these end up being literally about nothing.

Hold up, wait a minute, I do have something to remember about today.  As I was pulling onto the interstate I got a text from my CT asking me to call her.  I did.  She let me know that she no longer got her full hour to do paperwork in the mornings starting next Tuesday.  Something to do with the AT in the infant room has too much OT and my CT is going to fill in from 8:15 to 8:45.  I think it kind of sucks b/c it’s the thirty minutes right in the middle of her time, but I’m thankful it’s not me.  So instead of her having eight hours a week she’s only going to get six (I think).  I’m not quite sure what she’s going to do considering she isn’t able to complete all the necessary requirements with the eight hours she’s allotted.

Well wasn’t that nice?  I had a real reason to journal today, not just to do it randomly b/c I’m trying to meet a personal goal.

High today: hubby should be home with in the next hour or so!

What a nice gesture to continue to read my humdrum life, thanks…

my day back at work

Today could have gone smoother.  It wasn’t an absolutely terrible day, just a bit bumpy.  I woke up at four again and I was a bit on the chilly side (hubby had to have the ceiling fan on).  He was snoring something loud and I tried to have him roll over and cover the snore and at the same time cuddle him.  When I cuddled up to him he snored even louder!  So I spent the first two hours of the morning chilled, uncomfortable, and irritated b/c I wanted more sleep (oh and I didn’t go to bed till closer till 11).

Since I didn’t make lunch or bfast last night I went instant: apples & cinnamon oatmeal.  I let Izzie out and we sat outside for a little bit.  The weather is wonderful in the early a.m. right now.

For lunch I packed carrots, chicken sandwich wrap, and four fruits.  I only ate two of the fruits and the veggies.  Someone brought cake balls and I gorged on them.  They were dark chocolate with white icing and were AMAZING!  Brought back memories of the PITA white chocolate I used last winter.

Before making it all the way t work I stopped at Regions.  I was going inside to deposit the checks and found out that one doesn’t take deposits, the lady told me to use the drive through one.  I went through and the damn thing wouldn’t/couldn’t read them so now I have two signed checks and a filled out deposit slip.  I have to make sure not to lose them since they’ve been signed.  Then I headed to Kroger to pick up yogurt.  I also got some red peppers (they were on sale for .77 each) and cucumbers and tomatoes.  I meant to pick up pimentos and realized ten minutes before I got home that I’d forgotten.

When I got to work I didn’t have time to check anything on the net, it was five minutes till I clocked in.  I did however get lucky and made a cup of tea I’ve never had before.  It was stinky, smelled like tobacco to me and cigars to my CT.  It didn’t taste that bad, I don’t think I’d buy a whole box, but it was drinkable.  My CT liked her mints.

They day itself went decent.  The only bump, hill?, was nap time.  Our new kid cried the whole time again.  Our lunches started over thirty minutes late.  I usually get back at a quarter till and today I didn’t get back till a quarter after.  I’ve got mixed feelings about the last fifteen minutes.  Our little chick who I think works her mom and dad way too much was hot and I tried to take her temperature.  I only tried so hard b/c I thought since she has so many behaviors at home she would probably act ten times worse for her parents.  Well the DR came in and I think she was over judgmental about my actions.  I tried to talk to her later to explain, but I got interrupted once by her and again by other parents by then I couldn’t chat with her anymore.  She thought I got too frustrated and got physical with the child.  I was only trying to protect her and myself and explain to her at the same time about the thermometer.  I know I should probably let it go but I really want to get the kinks worked out.

After our daily note time which was spent mainly cleaning and entering contact logs I played with the infants.  I had fun.  I fed the two babies that are a week apart (one the AT’s baby and the other one a week younger).  The younger one ‘chose’ peas but struggled through them.  This was the first time I’d seen him fuss.  I think he started fussing b/c he was jealous the other kid had water and finger puffs.  After I gave him his puffs he immediately calmed down and was his happy self again.  I got to stay in the baby room until I left.

When I got home I sat outside again while Izzie got situated.  Back inside I made bfast: berries with yogurt and lunch: veggies, three fruits, and the leftover wrap and then made dinner: ‘steamed’ onions, wild rice, peas-n-carrots, and brisket.  I also ground up some more beans to have coffee in the morning!

Hubby is in Memphis, but should be back tomorrow night before I go to bed.  He’s off on Wednesday and is going to take Izzie to the vet.

High today: playing with the babies till I clocked out.  Thanks for listening again…

In memory

So today was the death anniversary and a birthday, Izzi’s.  I spent it with dad and had a nice time.  I woke up before him, well techinacally got out of bed before him.  He said he woke up ealierr but was just relaxing.  After he showered and stirred we had a couple of cups of coffee together outside while just chatting and petting the cats.  He showed and educated me about this:
The difference between this creature (a terrapin) and a turtle is the terrapin has a hinged belly:

and the latter has a flat belly.  The terrapin closes it and hides.  He’s also really quick and hissed at me when I pulled him out from under the grill where he hid.

After showering he and Mike watched Source Code.  While they watched it I researched the wines and worked on making a decision to which three classes I want to go to.  I really wish I could have afforded to go to them all.

For lunch we went ‘up town’ and ate at the Mexican restaurant.  Dad and Mike shared nachos and made them ‘fajita’ style (which basically has nicer meat instead of ground beef or shredded chicken).  I ordered a chicken burrito sans red sauce w/ rice and beans.

After lunch we headed to the redbox to get a movie.  We went to get Limitless and the machine said ‘lucky you, you get a rental for .50 for one night, do you want to continue?’.  I did.  Mike picked out Insidious, but I didn’t stay to watch it.

Back at home I was stuffed and didn’t have room for the pie until thirty minutes before leaving.  As I was leaving dad and Mike packed me a care package.  I got leftover brisket, potato salad, and pie.  Dad also gave me two servings of apple cake and banana bread (one of each).  He tried to give me nine!  We bartered and I ot it down to the two.

When I got home hunny was watching Dark Crystal.  When it was over we chatted about Izzie.  He’s finally worried about her health and wants to take her to the vet on Friday.  I really hope she is okay and not too much damage.

We finished the most recent season of Burn Notice in the house and what a cliff hanger!

High today: quality one on one time with dad.

Thanks for understanding about today…

I miss you dearly and wish you were still here.

Alexia and pie

Today was an amazingly wonderful day.  I’m so glad I got to come to Paris and spend time with mom and dad.  I woke up earlier than mom and David.  I logged onto the laptop and was able to sort of connect to the net.  It wasn’t the greatest connection, but I read off and on through the disconnect.  After she woke up we headed into the kitchen together.  I used mom’s coffee maker I got her for Christmas and made ‘iced coffee’.  Big deal?  Well it was!  When I normally make iced coffee I make strong half serving coffee and pour it over ice and let the ice water down the strength of the hot coffee while chilling it.  Mom’s pot used ice and made the coffee come out of the carafe chilled!  Even though the top of the machine was warm to the touch like it made normal coffee.

Then she made some super fabulous fattening bfast: a real egg omelet with mushrooms, onion, red pepper, and cheese and biscuits!  OMGEEEE I made a huge piggy of myself!  After bfast we sat outside together on the swing and chatted while playing with the animals in the shade.  Once David left we headed to the garage and I went through her goodies to see what I wanted.  Then I helped her price the books and set them out.  It was nice.  While we did the books she busted out the bottle of Alexia and we enjoyed a couple of glasses.  She too actually enjoyed the wine!  We got to a stopping point and went inside and had a heart to heart about family.  I discovered that calling her dad by his name offended her and she thought I should call him ‘granddaddy’ and didn’t understand why I didn’t.  She blames dad saying that he didn’t permit us to be around them.  I don’t know whose fault it is, but ‘granddaddy’ just doesn’t come naturally to me.  ‘Sam’ does.  I don’t use it around him; I actually consciously say ‘granddaddy’.  I also found my original birth certificate!  That means now I can get a passport and I need to either frame it or put it in some sort of safe box.  I though about asking Ross if I could put it in his safe until we get one.  I should also ask about putting our SS card and wedding license.

Before heading over here to dads I went w mom to Dollar General to get some drugs for her allergy on her arms and legs that have bothering her, then we went to the wine store, and lastly stopped at the Dairy Freeze to get her a BLT.  I almost bought DH a wonderful gift.  When I was checking out there was a miniature skull for eight bucks.  They didn’t have a small black one just white and a reddish orange one.  They did have a large black one though for close to eighty bucks.  I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for vodka when DH isn’t even really a connoisseur I just wanted the container.  The black one was more expensive than the other b/c it’s aged and stored differently.  Wouldn’t have thought vodka was an aged product.

When I got to dads I gave him his chocolates and he gave me my treats: mints from Sally Lanes!  Which was hilarious, since I bought some for my CT.  I also gave Mike his Madeira.  Then I gave Mike his belated bday gift: wine tool and Merlot and gave dad his early bday gift: mandolin.  They were both super excited about everything they got.  Then we opened the black Muscat.  It was nice.  Not as sweet as the concord but not as dry as a regular red.

Dad treated us to a wonderful dinner: smoked brisket, baked beans, corn on the cob, jiffy muffins, and potato salad.  For dessert Mike made a homemade coconut cream pie.  He tweaked his pie crust using Lilly White flour and balsamic vinegar.  I thought it was yummy and was meant to be with sweet fruitiness.  His other crust should be with chocolate or pumpin/swt potato.  I told him he should make both crusts and I’ll do a blind taste to see which one’s better.  Let’s hope he does it this fall when he makes pies!  The pie was very pina colad-e flavored, more so thank coconut on it’s own.  Not sure why, definitely not complaining, it was good, just different.

I tried to stay up, but dad surpassed me to stay up and watch the race.  I’m going to pass out now.

High today: quality time with mom and dad, brisket, and good wine (especially since Mike raved about my Merlot).

I appreciate you hanging with me over the weekend…

TGIF

WOO HOO what a wonderful day.  Of course I woke up early, but actually fell back asleep!  When the alarm went off I thought it was a text msg and tried to ignore it, however I glanced at it and realized that it was time to really get up.

Bfast was tasty and I could have eaten more, but it did fill me up.  Since I had to be at work early for real, not just to play I got ready as soon as I finished.  I made it out the door by the time I wanted!  I remembered to pack a towel, body wash, conditioner, and vitamins as well as dad’s wine, gift, chocolate, mike’s present and wine too.  I fed Izzie, cleaned kitty litter, and fed them too.  I don’t think I forgot anything, but guess I’ll find out tomorrow.

I was shocked that Ms. Christi was actually there before me.  I arrived at 7:15.  I asked her and she told me she got there at 7:00.  AND she actually did work off the clock.  Such a trooper.

One of my old classmates was the first to arrive.  It was kind of strange.  He has CP and normally children with special needs go into the metro schools program after they turned three but his parents have decided to keep him here at our school.  He’s gotten super big (not fat, just grown).  He can almost undo do buckles on his wheelchair!  Of course he can now pretty much navigate anywhere in it easily.  The second kid was a sibling of one of the kids that we used to teach (she left a LOOOONNNGGG time ago).  So it was just the three of us for almost twenty minutes or so.  Which means the first thirty minutes of the day went by super quickly!

My CT got lucky and got an extra hour of paperwork time this morning so I didn’t have to give up any of my time.  I’d like to think that I was successful and used my time diligently.  I got all the papers for next week, completed LP’s (except circle time), updated my data notebook, entered data in computer, and had a ‘pow wow’ with Ct about our meeting with the twins parents next week.  Which basically left me with just typing summaries for the kids!  Oh yeah and I did all the laundry (sort of, at least got it washed, oh I hope that someone put the last load in the dryer b/c I don’t think I did).

The kids were fun at the eleven hour.  I enjoyed my salad.  I also indulged in Mrs. Katie’s coffee and lemon cake.  After lunch I enjoyed myself in the baby room.  The family urge was still hanging out.  Next I went to the Lion’s and the urge was shot and destroyed pretty well quite immediately.  Then I headed to the toddlers, but the AT didn’t need to get out so I went to two’s and let my CT get out and stayed in there w/ the AT.  As we were leaving the gym and I was headed to clock out the AD stopped me, and more politely than I would have expected, questioned me about why I wasn’t in the toddlers.  I told her that I offered time to teachers in babies and toddlers and neither one of them wanted it so I came in here instead.  She seemed okay with it she was just confused b/c she didn’t know where I was and though she could have used me more wisely to let someone else do something.  Oops, I just assumed to go to two’s b/c that’s where I’m supposed to go at four now-a-days.

Since se stopped me to chat I got out of the building a little bit late, about eight minutes (after clocking out and changing clothes).  I was so excited to be going home!

I had a plan to stop at the wine store next to Costco to get mom the Alexia white and gas (hoping it would be cheaper).  I also thought it would be quicker to go down that road and then get on the interstate instead of sitting in interstate traffic, but wasn’t correct in my assumption.  It seemed to take forever to get to the wine store.  However I did get to look at the scenery/surroundings of that road and noticed a few things I’ve not before.  After making it to the store and getting gas (which you need a membership card by the way) I was headed out.  It was an hour later!  I was bummed; I really thought I was going to make it to Paris in time for me to have dinner close to seven.

Well I hauled as much as possible down the interstate to get here.  While driving I worked on having better posture and tucking my tummy in trying to burn calories from the cake.  Earlier today I had a craving for either Chinese food or maybe trying the pasta place in Pairs.  Well when I called my mom she suggested the pasta place, so I was trying to prep myself for all the carbs I knew we were going to consume (not to mention all the super tasty fattening food I’d get over the weekend just being home).  I got here a little, literally not even ten minutes, after seven and we headed to eat.  On the way there mom was telling me how she’s only been once and the sandwich wasn’t good, but she had a couple of friends who suggested the chicken alfredo and she thought about trying it.  When we got there they had calamari as an appetizer special so we ordered it.  We at two halves, so one whole loaf OMG of bread!  I didn’t think it was that big of a deal while eating it, but now that I type it that means I hate half a loaf!  It wasn’t like the size of sandwich bead more like one half was the size of my two fists put together.  That’s really a lot of bread especially considering I dipped almost every last bite in oil!  We both ordered items that weren’t on the menu.  Mom got the gourmet mac and cheese: penne pasta with a creamy mozzarella sauce and shrimp and I got the Shrekko pasta (that’s not the real name, but I can’t remember it); cheese filled tortellini with chicken, sun dried tomatoes, Canadian bacon, bacon (I didn’t eat b/c I got it on the side) in a garlic oil sauce.  They were both super fabulous!

I got to see my old friend Charlie Pierce finally while we were there.  He looked good.  He’s gotten taller and more trim.  We chatted for a few minutes and I discovered he was funny, not gay, but funny.  He’s still actively participating in being a Jehovah Witness (IDK if that’ PC, but it’s my journal so I’ll say what I want I guess, I only say it b/c I know people can change and choose to follow different beliefs through out their lives) and has traveled a great deal for it.  He’s been to NY for a year, Costa Rica for three months, and Flordia for a little while.  The part I thought was humorous is he got home sick for his parents and moved back to Paris every time.  He lives around the high school somewhere next to Michael Mann’s family.

After dinner we stopped and got David a coney and milkshake then stopped at the redbox and got a movie.  When we got home I opened the Alexia for mom and she still wasn’t a white fan.  I had trouble believing she didn’t like this one, it’s pretty popular w most people.  I gave her the box of chocolates and she opened pieces and sampled em’ right away.  I took a bite of the graham cracker and, as expected, didn’t really care too much for it.  I did get a small nibble of the bolt and LOVED it!  The dvd player in the living room wouldn’t play the movie to so we watched it on the laptop laying in the guest bedroom.

Now my day is over and I’m exhausted.  Wait I forgot to mention that David tried our leftover pastas and he liked them both.  He liked mine better, and is going to eat them for lunch tomorrow!

Now I’m done.

High today: seeing my mom..

Thanks for ending a great day with me…

blah, I'm pooped

What a long day.  Forgive me now if this entry is short.  I’m pretty wiped out.

The day started nicely.  I was on a high from how much fun I had last night at Sunset Grill (even though I don’t know if the class would be worth 50.00, I enjoyed myself.  I sat with some nice ladies and they invited me join them for dinner.  We all got apps and shared w one another.  I got the pork purse and it was wonderful.  I finally got to try the butterscotch habanera bread pudding and it wasn’t all that.  It was nice and sweet, but mine had no heat).

I talked with Ms. Brit and as we were walking down the hallway I heard the observational mom and redirected our path so I didn’t have to talk with her just yet.  The morning went well.  A bit chaotic, but not bad.  Circle time was a bit overwhelming.  We went out before hand and when we got in the OT, as usual, wanted us to do something from a parent’s perspective.  My CT was leading circle and I had a kid on the changing table and the OT wanted me to get all the kids water.  HELL freakin O!!! Can’t you see I’m busy?  Not to mention we didn’t have any sippy cups!  Sometimes she just wears me out.  She almost always makes the most obnoxious suggestions at the worst possible moment.  It wouldn’t have been a big deal if I was able to get it myself or if she’d suggested/asked if she could do it.  ERRGGGHH makes me mad talking bout it.

Nap time was good.  All kids except the normal one slept.  However when I went into the gym on my lunch break the observational mom wanted to talk!  Just leave me be please?  It’s the only thirty minutes of down time I get in a day, let me process and reboot.

After nap was decent enough too.  A bit hectic since we had two therapist in the room.  But I was smart and started art w/ the kids that were all ready awake.  We were able to sit for snack and had three therapist at this time.

So all in all it wasn’t a bad day, just tiring.  By the time it was over all I wanted to do was lay on the floor spread eagle face down and do nothing.  But alas I could not.

Afterwards I played with the babies for thirty minutes than played w/ the big kids as usual for a Thursday.  When it was four I was able to get out and do more paperwork.  What a nice week this has been.  The two’s class has been down three of four kids all week and that’s the only reason I’ve been able to catch up.  Next week will probably be a different story.

I prepped bfast and lunch for tomorrow.  I’m worried that I didn’t cut enough cantaloupe for bfast, hope it fills me up.  My dinner wasn’t all that fabulous: lo wild rice w/ veggies and spicy tomato sauce.  I ate the last piece of chocolate beet pie with nuts.

I tried to watch a movie, The Lost Prince.  I thought it was about a child with Autism, but was wrong.  I didn’t realize it was a three hour movie.  I don’t think it’s worth three hours so I turned it off and going to put it in the mail in the morning.

Now I’m ready for bed.

High today: it’s over and I’m going ‘home’ tomorrow.

Thanks for reading the nonsense…

tolerable Tuesday

For some strange reason I woke up at four a.m. again this morning.  I was able to stay in bed and rest though today!  And when I got up there wasn’t a surprise for me in the kitchen!  What a semi good start, huh.

Bfast was yummy.  I really need to go to Kroger and get more yogurts.  I’ve only got one more carbmaster left.  Tomorrow I’m having cc and fruit.  Thursday and Friday are up in air.

When I got to work I asked the LT in the Racals room if she’d switch schedules w me on Friday.  She might, but will let me know tomorrow or the next day.  A few minutes later the LT I asked yesterday came in and told me she couldn’t switch, was I surpised? Nope not in the least!  She said she’d decided to go home after convincing mom to buy healthy groceries to feed her over the weekend.  What-eveah, I knew it was a long shot asking her.

Nothing interesting in emails or blogs.  I didn’t have as much time to check them though since I stood around and chatted for fifteen minutes.

Our day went well.  The mom who has been observing and I’ve been talking to way too much went to a training today so she wasn’t in the hallway till after noon.  It was nice.  Her son did well.  We took his lovey and hid it and he went all day without needing it.  He sat happily at lunch and took a short nap.  He did get his finger smashed and had trouble regrouping afterwards since he didn’t get his nap out though.  During nap time I was able to complete my DN’s, that’s a plus.

I’m proud of my CT.  The AD made a schedule for us and my CT sort of set her straight.  We have a kid starting tomorrow and mom wanted to have a meeting to chit chat and help us know what to expect from her little man.  Originally we were both supposed to attend it but the LT in the infants had to leave early and the room needed coverage.  The AD had me going in there and my CT attending the meeting.  Well my CT said it would make more sense if I went since he was on my caseload.  Score one for bonding.  Sometimes I question if the management team really sees me on the same level as my CT.  I know I get paid more, but sometimes I think she gets more benefits or what not.

The meeting was interesting.  Mom had lots of informative tid bits and I look forward to meeting the little guy as well as dad and sis soon.

I got to play with the babies till 4:15.  It was supposed to be till 4:30, but the numbers dropped low enough the teacher could be in there on her own.  So I got to work on paperwork!  At 4:30 I was scheduled to go into the Giraffes room but she only had three kids so I got to continue working, other than giving her a break to get away from the screaming kid.  I started my contact logs to get ahead on Friday’s work.  I also got in my two consults from the IFSP meetings I’ve had recently.  Now that I think about it I should check the other IFSP I had on the old guy who came back to our room.  Let’s hope I remember that tomorrow.

When I got home my body was exhausted so I just lay in the chair for a little bit.  I started to balance my checkbook and my dad called.  He didn’t want much.  I guess he was calling to see when I would be in Paris.  Even though I’m pretty sure I told him on Sunday that I wouldn’t be at their place till Saturday evening.  As a matter of fact I know I told him b/c he wanted to know why.

After chatting w him I finished balancing.  My account is still 17.00 off, the bank says I have more than I do.  I guess it’s better than me thinking I have more.

I prepped bfast; cc and cantaloupe, and lunch; salad and fruits for tomorrow.  Oh yeah my CT mentioned around 1:30 that she was able to trade schedules w me tomorrow so I can actually get to my wine class on time/early and hopefully get a decent seat.  She thought she’d told me earlier, but better late than never.

For dinner I made a tasty creation.  I steamed red onions and topped it with the left over wild rice.  Then tossed in sun-dried tomatoes (future knowledge 25 grams tomatoes in oil equals 19 grams rinsed – I think that was the numbers).  Lastly I added a serving of tuna and sprinkled some seasoning salt (Lawry’s) and cracked pepper and a tid bit of parmesan cheese.  I really liked it and told Aaron I was going to have to remember so he could try it.

Becky called and left me a message about the vacation we are supposed to take.  I couldn’t understand the message but I continue to forget to call her and tell her that I can’t go anymore.  Man I feel like an ass.  I’m not quite sure how to tell her.  I need to bite the bullet and just do it.

I’m looking forward to my class tomorrow and won’t journal about it since it’s WW, but hope it goes well.

High today: yummy creative dish (wish I could take pics and post like all my food blogs).

Thanks for making it to the bottom with the ‘recipe’…

finally a good start

Today was better than I thought it was going to be.  I woke up at four this morning and couldn’t relax the mind enough to go back to sleep.  Instead I got up and let Izzie out and then lay in bed and read my book for almost an hour.  Then as I arrived into the kitchen to make bfast I discovered a wonderful present Izzie left!  YUCK, the one thing a person wants to see and have to clean before eating.  Luckily enough it was solid and easy.

I didn’t make lunch last night since it was a bit late but it came together easy enough: carrots, tuna w onion & pickle relish (thank you TW for making life simple), a peach, grapes, and cherries.

We were supposed to have a new kid start today, but the mom wants to have a meeting to tell us the way her son ‘communicates’.  That’s happening tomorrow at 2:15, it’s scheduled to last forty five minutes – crazy!

Oh yeah I actually had a lingering mommy ish moment on the way to work.  It wasn’t so much as the urge to be a mother, it was more a desire to have a family; more than just Aaron and I and a handful of pets.  I was actually okay with the thought of child bearing.  However the price tag is what kind of makes me weary, not to mention all the plans I want to do this fall as well as the whole ‘end of world’ coming next winter.  Should just let it happen and follow along with the larger plan, huh?  It actually lingered through out the day and I haven’t talked to Aaron today yet and I’m debating on whether or not to bring it up.  I doubt I will b/c I’m sure it will get his hopes up, but at least I’ve ‘said’ it out loud.

When I checked my email at some point today there’s a new group on meetup I really want to join.  It’s a dining and book swap combo.  It’s says they want to meet at different restaurants and maybe the organizer’s home later on, and trade used books.  Not just trade t though, but more like Christmas at every meeting.  There was a suggestion of taking old books you’ve read, wrapping them, including why you liked it so much (and I think a synopsis) and then choosing that way.  I think it sounds great, but I don’t have very many books to swap considering I don’t buy books, I borrow.  I said something to the OT about it and she said she might have a few that I could have, but I told her she’d have to write a brief summary and pretend like I did it.  She chuckled.

Back to the day: I started the new kids IFSP goal sheet in the a.m. and was able to finish it during nap time.  The day went great.  Our barn owl napped!  (I really want to put a gazillion exclamation marks b/c this is the first time he’s napped in a few weeks.)  We were also down two kids, one being top challenging.

I had an IFSP meeting at 2:00 that went well.  Then I played with the babies for forty minutes and headed to the Giraffes, aka as twos.  Fortunately there were only seven kids and the AD allowed me to get out and work on paperwork.  I updated my twin’s IFSP sheet that finally got posted (his meeting was on 8/11).  The AD also said that Brit and I could take turns getting out when numbers allowed after she’s trained on data collection and what not.

I asked my CT to trade schedules with me for Wednesday and she’s going to get back to me.  I asked the LT in the toddlers to trade w me on Friday.  She said she might if she doesn’t go to Alabama.  I bet she’ll go just to spite me.  I also asked the LT in the two’s class but she down right refused.  I don’t blame her since she had to do the late shift last Friday, but I thought maybe she’d at least hear me out or consider it since it’s only a half our difference from her own schedule.  Now all I’ve got left to ask is the LT in the oldest classroom, I didn’t get to ask her today b/c she was out.

During the last forty five minutes I had to fix the LP my CT did.  She always messes it up somehow.  This time she discombobulated (would you believe that word recognizes that word?) the title.  It’s supposed to be centered and I haven’t a clue what she did b/c it wouldn’t center.  So I sorted of started from scratch; I brought up an old LP and copy and pasted and retyped the necessary items.  I love that she jumps on the ball and gets it done I just wish she would do it ‘correctly’ (read my way as my hubby refers to the subject).

At home I noticed that Izzie has a weird bubbly growth on her left side below her rib cage.  I called MIL and she said their dog had it too and the vet said that’s just part of them growing old.  It shouldn’t be a problem unless it grows, gets hard, or hurts her to touch.  Of course something like this happens as soon as dad leaves.  He was here for five and halfish days and she was fine!

I prepped bfast and lunch for tomorrow: mango and berries w/ yogurt and carrots, roast beef wrap w cucumbers, pear, orange, and grapes.  I also made dinner: the amazing beet and mango salad I’m addicted to.  Today I changed the dressing up a bit again: half apricot half red raspberry preserves blended w the vinegar from the pepperocini peppers and a splash of raspberry balsamic.  OMG, I love this combo I think the best so far.  I kept the juice from the peppers and hopefully remember this combo and take it to the next family gathering to share.  I also had a half a glass of the busted s. blanc with dinner and for some reason it was yummy again.  I’m not sure what was wrong with it on Saturday.  Maybe b/c I was drinking it on it’s own?  Or maybe b/c I had too much Friday night and my palate wasn’t ready for it?  Well I hope tomorrow it’s yummy again.  However I don’t have a clue as to what to make for dinner tomorrow.  I want to make something with the left over wild rice from Saturday, but for some strange reason my brain is being very limited.  Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to check on my sites for something I’ve book marked.

While enjoying my wonderful single meal I watched a really good movie.  It made me want to watch Moulin Rouge.  I like that it was based on true events.  It was strange to see Rufus Sewell and Noami Watts that young though.  Oh I almost forgot for dessert I had another slice of my ‘healthy’ chocolate pie (which has lost almost every last trace of the ‘veggie’ flavor Katie so described) and topped it with a sprinkle of peanuts.  YuMmY!

High today: a smooth Monday for a change.

Thanks for helping me cope and keeping sane…
