what a negative way to start a seperation

Well today was another pretty laid back sort of day.  I woke up at FIVE A.M.!!!  I really wanted to go back to sleep but my stupid brain wouldn’t stop.  Figures, yesterday it was calm and today it was its typical spastic business.

N-e-who, I got up, showered, ate bfast (oatmeal – crazy huh, I was craving it something terrible), called and chatted with my dad, then headed out for my shopping day.  While talking to my dad he brought up this show he watched about this ice cream parlor up north and it was Grater’s!  I don’t think I’ve mentioned up much this ice cream has come up in conversations around me lately.  I saw it at Kroger’s and the pint was around 5.00 and the half gallon was around 14.00.  CRAZY!!!  The fill in PT and a set of parent’s love it and have raved about it and threatened to bring me some.  I refuse to eat it b/c I’m sure I’ll get addicted and won’t want to pay that price for ice cream!

I went to the OTP first and bought more than I intended.  I went looking for patio cushions for my mom, but they didn’t have any.  That’s the way the cookie crumbles though huh; got it when you don’t need it or ain’t looking for it and then when you need/want it it’s gone.

Let’s see what all did I get: three new jumbo large non cloth shopping bags for 1.00 each, an eight hook over the door thingy (that I’ve been looking for for ages) that was 7.00, a neat-o single cup microwave coffee filter thingy – 1.00, a bundle of rubber wine glass markers – 6.00, a roasting rack – 4.00, and a server double hinged wine tool for Uncle Mike’s b-day.  I think that’s it.  I couldn’t find my gift card so I spent all cash.

From there I walked next door to Wal Mart’s neighbor hood market.  I only bought bananas and two apples.  I did look at other things, but can’t recall.  As I was headed out I stopped and used my promo code and rented Season of the Witch with Nick Cage.  It was interesting.  I can’t say much in case some one reads this and I don’t want to give away anything.  But it was definitely up our alley of movie preferences.

Next I stopped at Aldi’s.  I got my berries, grapes, cherries, a salad mix, banana peppers, and some salmon.  I’m excited about the salad mix.  I typically buy stuff at Wal Mart b/c the price is better, however they don’t carry this mix.  I’ve only been able to find it at Kroger and they charge close to 3.00.  Aldi’s had it for 2.00!  It’s going to be the base for my awesome yummy mango beet salad I got off the net since DH is going out of town tomorrow.

When I got back DH was excited bout the salmon and suggested we have it for dinner.  However I suggested our new chicken patties from Costco and he was copasetic with the idea so we took them out to thaw.

Through out the day we watched Burn Notice and our redbox flick.  The patties were GREAT!  Aaron had a loaded BP with his and I had a tomato salad and slaw (and ate the rest of his potato that he couldn’t finish since he’s snacked on pistachios all day).

I splurged/made bad choices after dinner.  For dessert I had a fiber one brownie with ice cream and cut Aaron a slice of the pastry I bought him.  Of course I sampled the pastry and had trouble resisting so I had a slice of that too!

High today: just relaxing with the hubby.

Thanks for ending your weekend with me…

nothing much today

Today was pretty relaxed.  I woke up at my normal early ass hour, even for the weekend.  I headed outside first.  I thought about laying out, but it was kind of gloomy.  Since the sun wasn’t schorchingly hot, I opted to lay in the hammock!  This is the first time this summer!  I only got to hang out for about thirty minutes and it started raining.  :’(

After heading back in I showered and cut one of those peaches from Kroger I bought yesterday.  It was okay.  Even though it was huge it wasn’t as good as the Cali ones.  I read the new book for a bit.

Aaron woke up kind of early, tenish, for the weekend.  We got into a bit of a tiff b/c my brain was relaxed and when he woke up his brain was ping ponging the way mine normally does so he decided (unknown to him) to unleash it and get me riled up.  We settled quickly and the day went nicely.

For lunch I made a chicken salad with onion and roasted red peppers (seasoned of course), tossed tomatoes, and home made tortilla chips (from the 1PPs tasties).

We watched our Netflix disc and then started the new season of Burn Notice.  For dinner we had hamburger helper.  I know, eww, huh.  But it was actually yummy.  It was the Salisbury flavor.  I made it different than the box says to.  I browned and seasoned the meat in one pan and made the noodles the way I do for spaghetti.  When they were halfway cooked I added the seasoning packet and turned the heat down.  The only reason I did it this way was so I could have perfect balance of meat to noodles ratio.  I counted it as 10PPs (4 for pasta and 6 for meat).  I also had a side of steamed veggies as well as a glass of wine.  For dessert I made an ice cream coffee liquid drink.

DH and I had a heart to heart talk about the future and the way I work.  I’m glad he understands how I am.  We’ve discovered that the vino makes me a little bit more relaxed, open, and more willing to take the initiative.

High today: heart to heart with the hunny.

Thanks for being here…

TGIF - fish fry

Does the statement TGIF ever get old?  Not to me.  Starting on Wednesday I look forward to it.  All day long I like to tell people.  What do you think about TGIF?

Today was nice and easy.  I had my yummy bfast I made yesterday and read more of my b.c. book.  Oh guess I should mention that for some strange reason I woke up even more early, as in thirty minutes, before my alarm went off.  That means I’ve been up since five!  I have my Friday alarm set for earlier on Friday’s since I have to be at work a earlier, but now my body seems to be adjusting and waking up on it’s own.

Of course since we have new kids starting I didn’t get to work on any personal paperwork.  I spent the time updating all of our class sheets.  Maybe next Friday will be better.  The day was a little different.  I went to the Lion’s room instead of the Rascals @ 11.  Of course I got to go to the babies for my regular hour.  Then my schedule was flipped for the afternoon.  I went to the toddlers first and the Lions afterwards.  I think I liked it better this way.  Ending a day in the three year old room instead of the toddlers.

Today was one of my old kids last day.  When she started school she started in my rom and it was the first time she’d ever been into a school setting.  She came in barely crawling and we (mainly me) gott her crawling and walking!  Mom brought in some super yummy cookies.  I told her I wanted the recipe and she told me it was the recipe off the back of the Crisco bars!  That means they are super fattening, but that’s why they are so good.

After work I went to Kroger’s and spent way more money than I needed.  I as only going to pick up a few items for dinner but got distracted with all the beautiful produce.  That’s what happens when I go into the Green Hills branch.  They had mango’s 2 for 1.00 and I got five!  I also picked up a couple of super large peaches from a Carolina for .78 an lb.  I got ten yogurts and picked up an ‘oops’ dessert for the hunny.  I also got a few other items.

When I got home Aaron had packed the bag to take to his parents for dinner.  We made fish, fries, sliced tomatoes, and slaw for the gals.  I baked my fish with panko crumbs and the two filets were yummy!  It’s one of the few times I’ve actually used the crumbs and I think I may be a convert.  Dickie opened a wine a got them for x-mas and it was a sweeter dessert like one, but was yummy with the dinner.  For dessert we had peach berry smoothies.  Carolyn made em’ and they were okay.  I think the addition of milk made them less sweet than the ones I make – frozen fruit and yogurt typically.

With/after dinner we watched Tron.  I tried to use Dickie’s laptop but it wouldn’t connect to the net instead I read my b.c. book.

High today: family dinner.

Thanks for ending a week with me…

what a better day

Today was much better than Tuesday!  I really think I’m going to like this new b.c. book.  There are definelty some references I want to look up.

Our twins did exceptionally today!  ‘My’ kid didn’t cry during lunch, not to mention we had help and numbers were low.  ‘My’ kid stood and ate using his spoon!  I hope it works next week and I can slowly wean him to sitting.  They all took naps too!

My CT had her meeting with their parents and I think everything went well.  I know the kids made things easier than we thought they would do.

I was having such a good time in the baby room that I forgot to go to the Rascals at 3:15.  The AD came into the baby room at 3:35, looked at her watch, and then looked at me.  At this point I realized that I’d forgotten!  My CT and I talked about it later and we both wonder why she has to be so tacky with the motions and can’t just say something politely and nicely.

The LT in the Rascals didn’t mind too much since she had to partake in a working interview.  Then the DR came in and asked me my opinion and I relayed that I didn’t pay much attention b/c I’ve never been asked b/4.  We said a few more cordial words back and forth with the conversation summing up to she wants my two cents on all working interview if I’m around from today going forward.

Aaron and I had the amazing fresh produce I got at the little market I discovered yesterday.  We had the bacon wrapped turkey medallions from Aldi’s, grilled veggies (onion, zucchini, butter squash, and some peppers).  I really like the new squash and look forwards to the Bradley tomatoes.

High today: eating the new veggies and having such a good time in the baby room.

Thanks for hanging with me through the rough patches to make it to days like today…

another one down

BLEH what a rough day!  I almost don’t feel like writing about it b/c thinking about it is super exhausting.

Bfast was bananas and blueberries with vanilla chai yogurt.  I read the next to last chapter of my current Sookie book and really hope that the library has my other ones tomorrow.  Preferably in the morning, but I’ll settle for the afternoon too.

I tried to make coffee and totally f’d it up.  I put the grounds straight into the pot instead of a strainer/filter.  And then I left the ‘hood’ open which means the water couldn’t even get to the grounds!  I had to clean it too before leaving b/c I couldn’t just leave it there!

The morning went smoothly enough.  However lunch time started the down hill ride of emotions for our kids.  We did get to paint using a paint brush and the kids did better than I thought.  My CT started/did lunch again today.  I tried to be as tactful as possible and suggest setting lunch out better and more organized.  She listened to the statement and said that the only reason it went out the way it did was due to the craziness.  We’ll see on Thursday how well she does.

Oh and I also found out that it was one of our girl's last day.  We knew it was coming before July ended, but wasn't sure when.  Little girl's dad got a promotion and the family has to move to Maryland.  I feel really bad b/c I didn't really get a chance to talk to the mom b/c of all the commotion.  She didn't even get to tell me.  She told the SLP, who told my CT, who told me!

We stood around and talked to the parents for a little bit, close to 2:30.  Since we spent the first part of our time talking I didn’t really get to do paperwork.  I tried looking up some ideas for our back to school – transportation – wheels on the bus lesson plan, but couldn’t find squat.

Afterwards I played with the babies as usual.  Then I went to the Giraffes again.  I think I really like the new AT in there.  She’s kind of funny and I wonder if she might be a lesbian (is that okay to say here?).  She talked about her roommate, they’ve known each other for thirteen years, but have only been living together for two.  The roommate has kids.  They share two cars and drive which one is needed for different tasks.  The other girl works from home so she gets to keep the better of the two (and b/c of the kids).  I don’t have the balls to ask, but maybe it’ll come out one day.

I’ve been kind of grouchy all day to boot!  When I got home all I did was basically pass out in the chair.  Aaron tried to talk to me but it just required too much energy and my response sound kind of rude and short.  After taking a thirty minute or so reprieve I rebooted and got up to participate in dinner and make lunch for tomorrow.

For dinner we had Chilean sea bass, shrimp, roasted potatoes, and broccoli.  Since DH cooked mine first (b/c he didn’t want to clean the skillet twice and he planned on using butter and oil with his and I didn’t want it on mine) I ate it while finishing my lunch box foods.  I ate it too fast, which is to be expected when a person eats while standing and ‘working’, and was still hungry.  I made a mock broccoli slaw using the juice out of the peperocini’s with a squirt of low fat mayo.  It was yummy.  I really really love these little peppers!

I didn’t eat dessert since I ate a cat’s weight in Chex mix!  I love that stuff too!  I wasn’t going to eat any but my CT said it was yucky and plain and I thought she was nuts b/c I’ve never seen a plain kind.  Basically it was just original which to me is good too, not as good as bold and spicy or cheddar, but still yummy and addictive.

High today: honey making a wonderful seafood dinner.

what hell

Holy cow what a day I’ve had.  DH got his expected phone call at five am.  I assumed his phone would be on vibrate, but it wasn’t.  The ringer was turned on and of course it woke me up.  He waited till five thirty to actually get up and I woke up then too.  I finally got up at six and started my day.  For bfast I had cc and cantaloupe.  Of course I continued to read Sookie for a little bit.  I made half my lunch yesterday so this morning I had to finish it.  The part I had to do today was the ‘main course’; a salad.  I added some of the super yummy pepperocini peppers and it was wonderful.  This was the second salad I didn’t have to use dressing.  I’ve discovered that the juice from the tomatoes and other veggies made/make their own dressing.

I had lots of catching up to do on my net business.  I remembered to reserve my book club book and the nest Sookie novel.  I made it through all my emails but didn’t even get to look at the blogs.

The morning was easy enough.  However right before lunch up until two when the kids left was a whole different story.  My CT just doesn’t seem to get how to multi task.  She lays out the lunch differently (way more slowly than I do).  She does it one at a time as to where I set it all out on the counter and then serve it wham bam thank you mam style.  Since she does it that way I spend the first part of the lunch protecting other plates until the next kids get their food.  The part that made it the most challenging was I was playing whack-a-mole with three kids while she helped one!  BLAH!!!  The kids who had so much trouble going to sleep last Wednesday went down a lot easier today.

I went to the baby room and my CT went to the Lions.  I knew she didn’t want to, but I couldn’t bring myself to offer an exchange.  After the baby room I went to the Giraffes until I had to leave.

While talking to my hunny on the phone after work I found out he passed out at his work today.  He was on a roof cleaning.  His boss called him yesterday to tell him to hydrate and I stayed on him about drinking water, but he chose to drink nectar and soda with one glass of water.  Told him so!

We had leftovers for dinner, fin for yourself kind of night.  I had the chicken stir-fry made with hoisoin that was still yummy with a glass of red wine.  For dessert I made a pina colada smoothie sing the toasted coconut vanilla yogurt and frozen pineapple.  The fruit was so solid so the blender wouldn’t process it so I added a splash of coconut tequila and DH thought I was making an alcoholic drink.  If he hand’ seen me put it in you wouldn’t even know!

I made lunch for tomorrow today: carrots, wraps (with the pepperocini’s), a peach, grapes, and cherries.

I’m super tired and think I’m not going to make it through the next two episodes of Numb3rs.

High today: being able to get home and relax.

Thanks for keeping in touch with me…

a day to relax

I woke up early of course.  I tried to go back to sleep but Izzie needed out and wouldn’t get out of my face.  So I let up out and couldn’t go back to sleep.  I tried to log onto the net only to discover that I think our access has been locked.  So I didn’t get to email Shea nor did I check my emails or blogs!

Instead I read a little bit of Sookie and then rested for about thirty minutes.  When I finally got out of bed I went to the living room, ate a peach and read a little bit more.

I went to Wal Mart around ten thirty or so.  I needed to pick up some coffee and bananas.  Before heading out this morning I texted back and forth with Ashley and found out she doesn’t own any stuffed animals at all!  I tried to find one for her at the store but there went any (at least not that I thought appropriated, there was only about fifteen and they were very baby-ish).  I actually got out of the store on the cheaper side; the only extra item I picked up was tomatoes and water shoes (they were five bucks and purple and black).

Back at home I read for almost an hour till DH woke up.  Once he got up we watched movies.  We watched “Black Death” (from the redbox), “Battle for LA”, and “Green Hornet”.  The first one was okay.  I didn’t think the second one was going to end.  And I enjoyed the last one.

For dinner we had grilled food.  We had pork chops and veggies (onion, zucchini, eggplant, and bell pepper).  I cut up a whole onion since the last several times I wished I had more!  This time I made sure there was enough.

I had another mock banana split for dessert.

What a nice day of nothing!

High: relaxing reading time.

Thanks for letting me get out my blip today…

long time no shop

Today had its ups and downs.  I didn’t get in until around two thirty.  Ashley and I ended up going to Decades after the tasting.  We had fun.  We met a few guys that are on a softball team and she was attracted to the coach so as a married woman I supported her and aided in the chase to get his attention.  As we walked with em’ one of the guys got in a fight on the street b/c some ass overheard our conversation about there’s nothing wrong with being from the south and had to open his mouth.  Of course the player, being from the south and all, had a temper (and a little alcohol in the system) and had to make a stand.  He got a bloody nose and that was the end of the chase of the players.

At six thirty this morning I heard a weird banging noise and noticed Aaron wasn’t home yet so I thought maybe he was having trouble getting in the house.  But alas it wasn’t him, I think it was Medusa.  Since I was up, even thought I’d only had close to four hours of sleep, I couldn’t relax since I didn’t know where he was so I booted and logged on to the net.  He finally got home at seven fifteenish; which made for a sixteen hour shift.  I’m sure he got to eat a couple of times, but it was weird not having him home and knowing that he was actually working, not just out of town.

Once he got home I stayed up and played while he took a siesta.  We went to Costco and Aldi’s today.  That’s the reason he took a nap instead of just going to bed.  He wanted to go earlier rather than later.

I LOVE the Aldi’s over on Charlotte.  It’s much nicer and has several items that the East one doesn’t have.  We stopped there first b/c I wanted to check out their cherries since they are on sale for 1.49 a lb.  However they weren’t yummy, so I didn’t get any on our trip back, but they did have other better deals: chicken, pizza, and tri colored peppers (three for 1.49).

We spent more time and money in Costco than I wanted.  I only wanted to get tuna, carrots, peaches, and Kirkland zyrtec.  They finally had a mix of wild rice that I broke down and bought.  I don’t think it was the same one I wanted originally, this one is more brown rice than mixed, but I didn’t want to pass it up and not have one for another six plus months.  I also got peaches (YAY) even though it was a ridonculous price and some grapes.  Another not planned splurge was a triple pack of veggies: jalapeño’s, roasted red peppers, and peppercini peppers.  We opened the peppercini peppers to add to our Aldi’s pizza as well as some fresh yellow peppers and red onion to my pieces.  I think I like the take-and-bake from Aldi’s better than Wal Mart’s.

Once we got home we both took a nap.  Mine till five, his till five thirty.  When I got up I had a tasty peach from the in-laws collection while reading Sookie.  We watched Numb3rs while eating.  I had half a glass of wine with pizza and a pb banana split for dessert.

That’s it for today.  I’m gonna go read a bit while hubby watches TV.

High today: finally got Costco peaches and the amazing jars of veggies!

Thanks for stopping by on a Saturday…

TGIF

So I’m sitting in the parking lot waiting to start my Friday night which means this entry is going to be a little different, just a little.  Typically I enter my day at the end, but tonight will continue at least till after ten and by then I won’t want to do anything other than go to bed when I get home I think.

Bfast was yogurt and fruit.  Packed my box with fruits, veggies, and a wrap in an actual wrap instead of lettuce.  I behaved for the most part; I ate one cookie and three animal crackers.  This leaves me open to indulge later!

The day was good.

I updated all the daily files with the new kids FINALLY!  I also remembered to label folders for the kids too.  I got updated on my personal paperwork too.  I didn’t get to work on LP’s though.

I went to the Giraffes room instead of the Rascals and it was nice.  I spent a long time in there so it was way more relaxing and free to ‘play’ than having to break the baby room.

While I was in the Lions I learned that the LT is pregnant.  It’s weird b/c we just talked about it recently, about having children and desires.  She and her hubby want children but had planned on waiting.  It’s even more humorous b/c she was actually pregnant while we were talking about it but didn’t know!  We also had a little TMI talk which was nice.  I was glad that she felt okay enough to open up with me about her private life.

All the kids got a special treat to celebrate the summer and current themed LP; super hero’s.  It was a ‘superman’ ice cream.  When I first heard about it I got my hopes up b/c I thought it was the real stuff, but it was only a mock.  It was vanilla ice cream with strawberries, blueberries, sprinkles, and chocolate.  I refrained from having ice cream but I did eat blueberries with lots of whipped topping.  I ate mine after the kids ate theirs and shared with some of the kids.  I shared several bites with
Annabelle Lane
.  I tried to share with Susannah but in response she said ‘I just want whipped topping’.  It was humorous!

Then I headed to the toddlers and ate their blueberries too.

After clocking out I changed into my dress.  I can’t remember if I noted that I was wearing the brown dress I borrowed from Dana.  I got a few compliments from the teachers, which always makes a person feel better.

So now I’m waiting for Ashley and the event to start.  Hope its fun and I feel comfortable.

High today: that I’m getting to go to a wine tasting with Ashley.

Thanks for stopping by…

what a relief

Today has made up for the last two!  Hubby got back yesterday and we had a family dinner with lots of kin.  We went to Joe & Jean’s for dinner last night: salad, pizza, and texas sheet cake (which I ate way too much).

I don’t remember how I slept, but I woke up with my alarm.  For bfast I had a berry mix with vanilla carbmaster.  Since I didn’t make lunch last night I had to do it before going to work today.  I had fruits and veggies as well as tomato cucumber salad with laughing cow as my protein.

Once I got to work I bought tickets for the wine tasting tomorrow evening.  (I didn’t mention yesterday, since it was WW, but I bought tickets for Chaffin’s; so I’ve spent $120.00 in two days.)  I opted out of going to Savannah’s since Tiffany said she’d be interested in going at some point.  I’m undecided if I want to go to Shea’s pampered chef on Sunday.  I kind of want to go b/c it’s a prep party (take 3lbs of meat and while we are there we prep it to make three dinners for a family of four with twelve recipes), but I’m awful at resisting temptation when it comes to making purchases in cookware and what-nots.  However if I don’t go than I feel as though it would be wrong of me to ask her to support TW in the future, not to mention she has in the past too.  More than likely I’ll end up going, unless we don’t get to go to Costco on Saturday.

Anyways I checked my emails and blogs and all the good stuff.  Oh yeah I had a wonderful cup of coffee once I got to work, one I made from home and made super hot so it would be the perfect temperature once I got to work.

I completed yesterday’s daily notes before the children arrived.  We only had six kids total today.  The twin that usually cries in the morning didn’t today and his brother (the after nap crier) didn’t come to school.  The mom who has been gifting fruit for snack came back today (they didn’t come on Tuesday due to outside circumstances) and she brought a couple of gifts: watermelon for the kids and fresh homemade salsa using Amish tomatoes.

Our new T/R kid mom showed up at the beginning of nap time.  STRANGE!!!  She’s been court ordered to observe T/R from nine till two.  At first she said she only had to observe his therapies, but then said the part about the time.  This is not convenient since that means she’d be in the room the whole time he should be in class.  I suggested maybe she could observe from in the hall way during the morning and come in after nap for the last hour.  We’ll see how things play out.

I didn’t get anything done after two, I tried but of course I ended up cleaning the room since my CT can’t do it!  I didn’t get to play with the babies or the eldest, but instead went to my old class (the one I had b/4 the move).  They were really entertaining to watch.  One of the little girls, the smartest in the room, was pretending to eat babies.  She said if they were born too small we had to cook them and eat them.

Oh yeah, the DR’s sister-n-law was substituting today.  I was shocked and don’t think I pulled off the questioning my body displayed.  I wondered how and why they were bringing in a sub for one day.  I mean I didn’t get a raise, but yet they are paying the ‘sick’ teacher for being out as well as a sub, how does that work?  Also if I’m not mistaken she’s a backstabber according to an old teacher.  What-EVEAH!

Hubby had a nice day at home.  He got all his desired tasks completed.

We didn’t make dinner, just leftovers.  I had venison BBQ and rice chips.  For dessert I had a toasted coconut and vanilla yogurt.  My points today probably total 16, kind of low, but I could be underestimating too (yogurt – 2PPs, cheese – 1PP, crackers – 5PPs, chips – 3PPs, BBQ – 3PPs, & yogurt – 2PPs).

Before dinner I tried on several dresses for tomorrow night.  With the help of my DH I decided to wear a brown wacky bandana like clingy print dress that ties around the back of the neck coming from center of the chest.  It’s one I borrowed from Dana and tried to give back but she said she wasn’t worried about it.  It’s also the one Lele wore to a wedding we attended together last year.

While eating dinner we watched ‘Black Swan’ with Natalie Portman.  I liked it.  Movies like that always make me miss dancing.  However this one made me a bit thankful to.  It kind of pointed out all the pain that accompanies being a dancer.  However skinny she was, she was also gracefully beautiful at the same time.  I wish I had better bone structure and soft skin.  We always want what we can’t have.

I plucked the brows in order for my fashion evening too!

I hope tomorrow goes well and I’m looking forward to wine and time with Ashley M.

High today:  coming home and DH being there.

Thanks for helping through the rough patches…

another bellini day

Today was a pretty rough day, again.  DH is still out of town and I didn’t sleep well again.  I’m not sure if it was due him not being here or Izzie.  I woke up around two-ish and had to visit the ladies room and then she woke me up around four panting something awful right in my face!  EWW!

For bfast I had bananas and blueberries with apricot mango yogurt.  I had to make lunch since I didn’t do it last night.  The ‘main course’ was a couple of sandwich wraps on lettuce.

I made awful choices food wise and ate four cookies and hat seems to be a pound of Cheddar Cheese Chex Mix.  However I corralled my bad decisions in with dinner and had an awesome salad.  I’m going to have to have again!

Not much to say about the children.  We had another new kid start and he did AMAZING!  The younger twin cried all morning and then the eldest cried all afternoon!  On top of all the tears there were tons of adults in the room and I just wanted everyone to go away.

My brain is so shot that I can’t even express my day.

Oh yeah I did try the new coffee bags I bought this weekend, eh, they were all right.  My CT had one too and it kind of aggravated me a little b/c those buggers were expensive and she didn’t drink it all.

High today: my salad was repeat worthy and my hubby will be back tomorrow!!!

Thanks for letting me get out a little…

HELP and fab dinner date

I had a pretty good first day of the week.  I had a berry blend with yogurt for bfast.  Since I don’t have a book at the moment I connected to the net and attempted to get ahead on my entries.

I had to be at work early today, since I basically requested it, so as soon as I finished bfast I got ready, made lunch, and headed to work.  I packed left over veggies over pasta with other fruits and veggies for snacks.

The kids were good.  We had another kid start today.  It was a little girl who upon first view a person would assume she has autism, but after her first day we question how she qualified to receive ten hours of service.

I got off at 4:30, instead of 4:00 and headed to the library.  I actually walked there!  It only took about three minutes.  I was so excited to get the next Sookie book.  It’s a hard back copy, which means I’m not going to be able to keep it in my purse.

I met Tiffany from LBDC and we ate at Sam & Zoe’s.  She was pretty awesome.  She was very much like me.  She was pumped about the happy hour deal on the latte’s and we split a salad and a sandwich.  The salad was okay, it had strawberries, onion, walnuts, avocado, and feta cheese with a vinaigrette.  The sandwich on the other hand was wonderful.  It was on a nice bun with pesto mayo and ‘the garden’.

It started raining as we sat down to eat so we had to go inside instead of eating on the patio.  After dinner we headed to our movie, “The Help”.  Since it was raining I rolled up my pants legs hoping to keep them dry, but the rain started coming down at a slant and almost the entire outside of my right leg got soaked.  To make the wetness even better the high power dryer wasn’t working so I had to watch the movie with wet pants.

We arrived at the theater at least an hour before the show started.  It was nice though b/c we had lots of time to talk about all sorts of stuff.  She has an idea to do a cupcake tour and I’m down!  She also wants to go to the tea meetup with me.

I won’t say much about the movie other than it was good.  I loved the actress that played Celia the most.  I couldn’t not laugh at almost everything she did.  There was only one change that was done that I strongly feel shouldn’t have been.

It’s kind of late, so I’m headed to bed.

High today: dinner ‘date’ with Tiffany.

Thanks for checking in on me…

i'll miss him

Today was good.

I woke up nice and early, however I was a bit uncomfortable since I slept strangely, but the day was good.

I played on the net for a while.  Once DH got up which was earlier than normal since he had to leave for work.  Once we were both up and ready we headed about our day.  We went to the shopping center by his parent’s.  I went to Aldi’s and he went into Goodwill.  I bought more stuff at Aldi’s than I had planned.  They have raw deveined shrimp for a pretty good deal, less than five dollars a pound.  After I finished I walked to Dollar General, but they didn’t have what I needed.  Then I walked to Kroger and bought the instant coffee tea bags I’ve wanted to get FOR-EVER!  They were hella expensive.  It cost as much for those 19 little baggies as it does a pond plus of the grounds.

The main reason I headed there was to get a movie from the redbox.  I got ‘How Do You Know’ with Reese Witherspoon.  It was good.  I found myself laughing out loud a few times.  Ross cam home while I was watching it and it took me a bit longer than the usual flick.

I also did something I’ve never done before.  I went to a Sounds baseball game.  Jenny had a suite so I went.  I was really nice.  There were burgers, hotdogs, chips and dip, tortillas and salsa, chicken tenders, brownies, and pb cookies.  They also basically gave us what we asked for.  I of course over indulged in those damn pb cookies.

High today:  I enjoyed going to the game in the suite.  I discovered I really enjoy the sound the bat makes when it hits the ball.

My hubby left today and I hope that he stays safe and the next few days without him are okay.

Thanks for starting my week with me…

eggplant?!?!

Hubby had to work today so he got up before six.  Of course I did too, so I could try to play on the net.  I was successful and spent the entire morning doing so.  I tried to get caught up on all my blogs, but it was a slow and steady process.  There were still about forty when I decided to quit (after 12!).

I searched for eggplant ideas again and found a handful of new ones I liked and saved to a file on the laptop, I need to save them to my drive.

After logging off I ate some cc by itself.  I really love the Aldi’s brand!  I read Sookie and then headed to the store for my necessities, including a can of beets to make the beet & mango salad I saved a little while back.  I also picked up a little extra b/c they were marked down; salads, broccoli slaw, and for cans of nuts (two macs, one salt & pepper cashew, and a south beach diet blend).

Back at home I finished my last borrowed Sookie book and then headed to the kitchen to create my version of stuffed eggplant I found online.  I started the dish (baking eggplant and sautéing veggies) and then went back in the living room and did nothing for a while.  When DH finally called a little after seven, I went back into the kitchen and assembled and placed in oven to bake and made side salads.

The stuffed eggplant was super yummy!  I covered DH with cheese and filled his a little more and he commented on it before I asked.  There was also left over sautéed veggies which I’m thinking about serving over pasta one day this week.  I drank a half a glass of merlot with the dinner and it complimented it really well.  I did something a little different with the wine today too.  I’ve got it in the fridge, which is something you’re not really supposed to do with reds – they should just be chilled a little.  Anyways earlier this week, last night really, I had a glass of white (which we all know should be chilled) and noticed that it was cooling off (?) or is it warming up?  So thought to myself what better way to have red at the peak temperature – chill it and while it aerates it also looses its chill and gets to its serving temperature.

We watched Numb3rs while eating.  Since I ‘behaved’ today I over indulged in dessert.  I bought DH some ice cream sandwich pinwheels, cookies and cream, and ate one.  I was going to have a banana split and make it worth 7PPs and the sandwich was only 6PPs so I’m saving it for tomorrow.

High today: a successful recipe

Thanks for checking in…

TGIF

Today was okay.  It was a tad bit crazy only b/c I really didn’t feel like working.  I just didn’t have it in me.  We had an intake for our new little girl that starts on Monday, Eleanor Francis.

I didn’t get to work on any personal paperwork.  I spent the entire time updating our notebooks and files for the three new kids that start next week!

I also actually got to follow the set schedule for the second time ever.  The big kids were really participating in the whole vacation theme.  There were marshmallows the size of my fist as well as chocolate and graham crackers.  Can you guess what was made?

I ate one of those monstrous mallows, it was 3PPS, on its own.  I also ate one sun made smore.  It was okay.

Those were the only bad choices I made today.  So I didn’t get to over indulge too much at home.

High today: it’s FRIDAY!  Need I say more?

Thanks for ending the work week with me, let’s hope next week is better…

thursday of choices

Let’s see, how was my day today?...

Well I didn’t sleep solidly till the alarm went off, thanks to my DH and crazy dreams.  So I tossed and turned and finally got up b/c the alarm went of.

For bfast I had my yummy cc with cantaloupe.  I read the rest of my chapter from yesterday.  Sometimes I really wish I would/could take more time to read.  I love having my Satrday’s!

Packing lunch was easy: carrots, lettuce wraps (1PPs), cucumbers, watermelon, berry medley, and an apple (I assembled it last night so all I had to do was put it in).  I ate a handful plus of animal cookies (or are they crackers – a whole nother debate) and some fresh fruit a parent gave to us for our kids and didn’t want to take it back home today that weren’t counted for in my ‘plans’.

Before leaving the house I made a cup of stout coffee to have it over ice once I got to school.  I used the crème brulee creamer and it was super tasty!  I was actually bummed when I finished the coffee, since I’d waited till I got to school to make it; the drink wasn’t as hot so it didn’t melt the ice and make as much to drink as it normally does and there was more ice than drink.  (does this really make sense?)

There weren’t any deals I had to have s I got through that.  Then I half way updated my check book.  I also read through a few blogs and found a couple to save for later.

After clocking in I started to work on my daily notes for the newest kid that started this week, which I still haven’t finished BTW and hope to complete during my paperwork time tomorrow.

Once we got to class it started out pretty smoothly.  Our second newest kid, who behaviorly vomits, started smoothly.  He cried of course, but it took him more than fifteen minutes to ‘get sick’.  After he got sick, while I was changing his clothes, he calmed down enough to play while wearing only his diaper.  He also had the best day that he’s had yet!  Today was day five.  Skipping ahead through the rest of my day --- his mom informed when she picked him up that today was his last day!  To make a long story short, she said it was dad’s idea.  He’s not comfortable with leaving his son a school at such a young age while crying.  Guess he literally ‘rules the roost’.  Well I think he needs it, it’s not like it’s going to get any easier as he gets older, but oh well.  Plus side – I don’t have to do a summary since he hasn’t been here but for five days.

Back to the day – it was pretty good.  We only had one therapist in the room.  ‘My’ twin cried/fussed during lunch.  CT’s ‘twin’ cried after nap.  My CT thought he was scared.  Sometimes I think she hasn’t a clue what she’s talking about, but I’m sure she thinks the same about me.  I though he ws crying b/c he expected to be held b/c that’s all he has to do at home and he gets picked up.  I’m tempted to think that if the boys’ aren’t gated off in one room then they are in a parent’s arms.

The rest of the kids didn’t do anything too special.  We had on who arrived around ten forty five (she was supposed to be at school by 10:30 so she was only a little late).  Another kid left a little after eleven, which we knew but he was supposed to leave by eleven, and came back at one.  As mom opened the door she asked ‘do you want him’.  What are we supposed to say to that?  No take him away.  That’s nuts!  So he stayed.  Our friendly parent donated (that’s a weird word to call it, she gave it to us basically) more fruit (which is the fruit mix I mentioned I ate earlier) and some of the kids loved it.  Today was one of my kid’s last day, but we knew it.  He’s moving to the full time center starting Monday.  The mom brought us a nice gift of a pamper yourself like kit.

Since I had to talk to the mom who was pulling her son out and the mom of the little guy moving to full time, I didn’t get a chance to do anything paperwork wise for myself.  It was about 2:35 ish by the time our conversations were over so I just did busy work till it was time to go to the next room.

I went to the babies for thirty minutes.  Nothing fabulous in there.  Then I went to the big kids.  They were making ‘smoothies’ with vanilla ice cream and frozen strawberries.  Then we read a book super fast.  While I was in there the DR came in and asked if I could stay till the next teacher was in ration.  I was able, but didn’t have to.

The teacher in the toddlers had a rough day, lots of biters, dropsies, and craziness.  It wasn’t that bad once I got in there.  The room was in ration by four thirty so I was able to leave on time at five.

Once I got home I made lunch for tomorrow: carrots, salad with ham, cherries, cantaloupe, and a peach.  Then I sat down for dinner.  We had a roasted Cornish game hen (5PPs), rice (mine was brown 4PPs), and fresh from the preschool garden green beans.  DH sprinkled the hen with some tasty seasonings and it was great.  I was worried about it being boring b/c my CT and I talked about earlier and she said it just tasted like chicken.  However it was a btwn chicken and duck.  Not quite as greasy or gamey as duck, but a chicken like duck.  DH somehow messed up my rice so I made it better by adding a little bit of butter and some seasonings.  I also I had a glass of s. blanc (8PPs) and it was a great accompaniment.

While eating we watched Numb3rs and I texted my friend (he – ey).  I’m supposed to get together with another friend (the chick who was supposed to be in our wedding but backed out) on Saturday night but she hasn’t touched base with me about making plans and I’m a huge planner kind of person.  I’d much rather get together with the texted friend, but have to wait it out.  Aaron suggested just waiting till Saturday morning.  He’s going to find out what time he gets off and text her DH to let him know and we’ll go from there.  He suggested if CJ is down with getting together at that time to just text my friend and let her know that something’s come up and I’m doing that instead since she hasn’t contacted me.  I like his idea.

For dessert I ate my butterscotch tweaked ice cream (3PPs).  Its texture kind of reminded me of cake for some strange reason.  I really wish I had that machine so I could make butterscotch ice cream that’s creamy.

That’s all for today.  Now I’m going to finish our show and head to bed.

High today: making new back up plans with my Lebanon friends.

Thanks for reading all this woo-ha…
