TGIF

I had a pretty good day.  Bfast was a banana and some peach yogurt.  I made wise choices food wise.  For dinner I made a cheater open faced chicken quesadilla with onions and yellow pepper.

I alternated playing on the net, checking my ‘news’, and doing actual paperwork for the first thirty minutes or so.  It was mainly while I printed and dated the daily sheets.  Then I started my summaries.  I tried to call my parent, but she wasn’t available.

I played with the Rascals.  It was easy, there were only six kids!  I sat with them during lunch and ate my cucumbers.  One of the little girls asked ‘where’s the rest of you’re lunch?’.  For lunch I enjoyed my wrap (turkey and ham with tomatoes, onion, and pepperocini’s) and then a peach for dessert.

Afterwards I played with the babies for little.  Then I went to the Lions.  While I was in there I saw the toddlers outside.  Both teachers were out there with them. Why mention it?  I popped in earlier on during the day and asked how many kids they had.  6!  I wonder why in hades both teachers were out there with so few kids!  Their response was they were going to work on paperwork when they went back inside.  Well lucky me, I got/had to go to their room at 3:00, to be on my own with four kids.  It wasn’t all that bad.  The kids were actually engaged with playdoh for the first hour, not to mention my CT sort of volunteered to trade with me (after I asked) and let me play outside while she came in.  Then we ate a snack and only had to play for about fifteen minutes.

At the house Izzie and I sat outside for a little bit.  I watched a couple of other old movies tonight.  Need to imdb Jake!  As well as John Cusack to see what his first movie was.

All right, well that’s all for my day.

High for today: knowing hubby will come home this evening!

Thank you for reading about my day…

sensory overload!

Man today has been a ridiculously long ass day!  And it’s only 8:42!

For bfast I had my delicious cc and cantaloupe.  BTW did you read about the listeria outbreak on the cantaloupe that was online yesterday?  Luckily my little fruit wasn’t from the places mentioned on that article.

I left in a hurry this morning so I could get to school and get the borrowed book to take to the library before they opened only to discover that the library doesn’t open till ten.  I thought they opened at eight and I knew that if I got the book in the drop before they open they don’t charge a late fee.  Well come 10:10 my CT holds up a book and said ‘didn’t you want to return this?’.  ERRRRR I returned the wrong f’n book!  I asked her to take it back since she got off work early and she said yes.  I’m hoping she remembered and did it.

I slept better last night than I have the past few.  However when I got out of the shower and got bfast Izzie didn’t come to the door, I was worried bout her; but found out she was just sleeping.  (I need to figure out how all my bloggie friends strike through their words.)

Nothing exciting happened in any of the room today.  I would like to have a few nice (needing to strike here again) words with all the therapists though.  We have a class of eight.  The room is a little bit larger than the average single bedroom and on top of the eight kids and two teachers we had five therapist in the room.  Let me do the math for ya – 7 adults and 8 kids in a bedroom running round talking, cheering, singing, crying, jumping, pulling hair, talking, ummm, you name it and it was happening (is it a full moon out?).  To add some extra sweetness to our cake the kids were awful during nap time.  During my shift there were four of the eight awake, and two woke up as I was getting ready to leave to take lunch.  Luckily two of those went to sleep for my CT so she had four awake too!  When I got back to class the floor was a wreck, as usual, so were the counters.  So I started to tidy up and put away things.  My CT said she wanted to try to do playdoh again this afternoon.  I told her I didn’t think I could handle being in the classroom any longer and would much rather go to the gym (it doesn’t help that one kid was extremely insistent upon throwing all toys off the shelf, I’d clean behind him, and he come and throw them in the floor again – there was no stopping him).  Thankfully she was okay with it so we spent the last thirty minutes of class time in there.

By the time all kids and therapists were gone all I wanted to was lay in the floor, but alas I could not.  While I was playing with the Rascals I’ve discovered they’ve made something really strange: a do nothing machine, which is essentially a pile of junk taped together.  I asked her about it at the end of the day and she said it was a thing that one of the characters in a story did so they did it too.  Of course her kids were a little wound up and would not sit down and behave for closing circle so we just sat there quietly while I counted in my head.  It really doesn’t help that I feel like poo!  (I should feel better next week b/c I plan on changing the dern filter this weekend.)

After playing with the Rascals I went back to the baby room.  The AT’s son is doing something weird.  Today was the second day he’s done it with me and with me only.  I rock him to sleep quickly and get him all the way out.  As I go to lay him in his crib he wakes up!  Mom said he didn’t do it today and two other naps.  There’s something about the way I’m laying him down, has to be!

Since I made awful choices on sustaneance (two slices of Papa John’s pizza, a few packets of three whoppers, and a couple of mini milky ways) I decided not to have a real dinner; instead I had a protein (string cheese), a veggie (a pickle), and some fruit (watermelon).  I know reading this doesn’t sound at all like a meal one should eat for dinner, but I wasn’t really all that hungry and we all know you shouldn’t eat unless you’re hungry.  However I also know that I can’t NOT eat dinner so I at least need to eat something of nutritional value!

Also when I got home I decided that I really needed to clean the litter (it also helped that I didn’t have to make any lunch items since I didn’t eat any of mine today OR have to make dinner since I wasn’t hungry).  So I ab-so-lu-tely love that hubby cleans the litter regularly.  I wish he’d clean the floor and wall around the boxes too!  While I was down on the floor I went ahead and cleaned it really good, as well as the shelves and the step.  After that dirty business I noticed a weird slobber spot on the couch so I peered a little closer to discover that Izzie has been getting on both the large couch and my reading chair!  There was hair, slobber, and a couple of blood spots as evidence (really wish the hubby could have seen that b/c he’s told me every time I’ve suggested that she’s getting up there that he thinks it’s the kitties – but not this time!).  So I cleaned the couch and chair AND then I settled in for relaxation and dinner time.

While enjoying myself I watched a really good ol’ movie.  I think it was b/4 she had her nose job and I don’t remember her being that ‘baby got back’ size in Friends.  Do you?

Well that’s it for today.  Oh I haven’t been feeling tired at night this week.  Isn’t that strange?  When hubs here and we are watching TV together I have trouble staying up past nine, but this week I’ve stayed up till close to eleven each night (I of course felt it the next morning which would make you think I’d be tired the following night, but I’m not).  Weird cycle?!?!?

O-K, now I’m done.

High today: that it’s over and tomorrow is Friday!!!!!!!

Thanks for listening to all my yuckiness….

p.s. to self ---- do a better job putting this online regularly!

nothing much

This is going to be another short entry b/c not much happened today.

Do you want to know what I had for bfast? – strawberries (the end :’( ) and vanilla carbmaster!  Yummy!

The classroom was bit crazy with four therapist and us two teachers with seven kids!

I enjoyed playing with the babies till four and then had to go play with the toddlers.  The DR asked me if I could stay and close since we were short, but I couldn’t (Aaron and his parents are both out of town so no one is able to let Izzie out, not to mention she didn’t ask me until three ish).  I felt horribly guilty, but just couldn’t help it.

I didn’t make healthy decisions during the day (damn holidays and cupcakes) so I had another light dinner: curried veggies.  They weren’t as yummy as the sautéed ones last night.  I added a little cinnamon thinking it would ‘take it up a notch’, but I don’t think it did much (if it didn’t make it weaker).

I watched another guilty pleasure movie tonight.  It makes me want to watch the original.  I kind of also wouldn’t mind having a small collection of them to watch whenever I want, but I don’t know if I’d ever really watch them.

Well I’m worded out, but not tired.

High today: tomorrow will be Wednesday, which means the week is almost over, which means I’m closer to getting a filter so I can get better!

Thanks for being interested in such a mundane day…

stupid allergies

Today was a pretty rough day.  I didn’t get much sleep last night.  My mind was racing with thoughts and ideas after playing on pinterest.  I kept thinking of ideas of way to do fun and fancy nails (I need to invest in scrapbooking hole puncher thingy’s and more colors).  I also think I want to attempt to make/create pumpkin biscotti with craisins, maybe some white chocolate or butterscotch chips or regular chocolate chips, topped with the vanilla caramel icing oozed down to be more ‘icing-y’ and less ‘creamy-y’.  Of course the rain kept me up as well as my snotty nose.

I was worried about Izzie this morning, she didn’t go potty or even seem to be lively.  I got to work a little early and checked my emails and blogs.  I finally remembered to email Erin back after damn near a month.  It was tacky/awful considering she probably had her baby yesterday, at least that was her due date.

After clocking in my CT and I sat together and hashed out our LP’s and came to an agreement.

Our newest kid temper-tantrumed and ended up throwing up AND peeing on me!  It wasn’t technically on me.  His pull-up leaked and my hand was on his leg and got the full privilege of getting it all over my hand.

Other than that the day was easy enough.  We were down three kids so the day went smoothly.  I felt like a$$, stupid sinuses.  I indulged and ate a few cookies and a cupcake, not the super large rich ones from last week, but a dairy free whipped chocolate iced one for one of my old kids 3rd bday.  I didn’t eat enough fruits and veggies.  I think my body might be going through withdrawals since I’ve done horrible in the dietary world.

The DR and AD actually set time aside some time for me to do paperwork.  I didn’t have to go to a classroom till 4:00 that means I got an hour and forty minutes to paperwork!  I basically finished the LP’s for October.  My CT needs to update/complete the circle time and then it’ll be done!

At home I washed the dishes and made dinner: sautéed veggies.  I’ve enjoyed watching Seinfield and I’m waiting on my tea to cool down.

I hope I make better food decisions tomorrow and these sinuses don’t turn into an infection.

High today: finishing the LP’s.

Thanks for checking out how my week started…

a new addiction

Well today started out a bust but ended up productive.  I was supposed to go boot shopping with Ashley but Ross asked her to go to the Titan’s game and she chose that.

Instead I shopped, groceries only, and then played on the net.  I did lots of looking for trendy fashions and bookmarked all sorts of exciting things.

I took Izzie with me.  The first time she wouldn’t go down the steps and I had to physically move her down.  Towards the end of the day she managed to maneuver down on her own two times!

Aunt Linda came over and talked my ear off about nonsense, as usual.  She doesn’t really take the social cue of being busy.  However she did tell me some interesting things.

I stayed over there a really long time, it’s after ten now, which explains why this entry is so short.

High today: playing on pinterest and Izzie getting down the steps on her own.

Thanks for being interested in the boringness of my day…

more Vino (on the River)

The hubby had to work today.  I actually slept in, sort of, anyways.  I stayed in the bed till about 8:30.  When I got up I discovered that Ashley had txted me about today.  She came over early and we did a little shopping.  I was on the search for a fall themed spoon rest.  I saw one in the Dollar General circular.  I went to two and neither one had it.  Then we went to OTP and they didn’t have one either!  They already ad tons of x-mas stuff out.

Afterwards we had lunch.  We shared fish-n-chips and two hand rolls (firefly and scallop one).  Our server was quite awful.  After dropping off our food she only came back once to see if we were okay.  She didn’t come back to refill our drinks or anything!  I had to hunt down our checks so we could leave.

We pushed our time to get to the bus stop.  That’s right, bus stop!  Ashley and I rode MTA for the first time today.  It wasn’t too bad.  We walked to the stop and got on.  We sat up front and was on there four about ten minutes.  Then we ‘hopped’ on the ‘circuit’ bus, which is free and rode it to Riverfront.

We got these adorable little wine glasses, real glasses, not plastic ones.  They were etched with a little picture on one side and Mafiozza’s logo (I’m not sure about that spelling).  There were a couple of booths that ran out of wine towards the end.  Ashley bought this adorable dress and I got the business card for the company to check out their goods.  I really liked the honey and pistachio liquors.  The honey one would be really yummy in hot tea and I don’t even like hone in my tea!  The pistachio one tasted like bit o’ honey.  I kept my ‘passport’ from this event with all my marks about preferences, unlike on Thursday.

As we were finishing the ‘tour’ we had to go potty, but it started to sprinkle, and there was a l-o-n-g line.  Luckily enough hubs was off work and he came and got us.  Then we headed out and ate Mexican.

I’m off to bed now and I’m sure I’ll pass out quickly.

High today: Wine on the River, must go again!

Thanks for letting me tell you about my day…

TGIF

I wasn’t hungover from last night, which is a great plus.  I’m sure people thought I would be.  The day was good.  I was a little sluggish to begin with.  I attended the meeting with my CT and the EI for the twins.  It was kind of pointless.  But I’ve discovered that I’m supposed to do it once a month and my CT is supposed to meet with the parents once a month.

I got to play with the babies until 4:00.  I was supposed to get a made up hour of paperwork at 3:30, but of course it didn’t work.  I’m super jealous though b/c my CT was out all day doing paperwork.  She was in the baby room for about thirty minutes in the a.m. and went to a class around 2:30 or 3:00.  That means she got about five hours of paperwork time today!  I hope she finished everything.  She also came in at one point and asked me if I wanted her to start typing the LP’s or did I want her to wait so I could do it.

Hubby was home when I got here.  We didn’t have dinner ‘together’ since I was ‘bad’ at school eating the leftover cupcakes.  I made him some chicken teriyaki meatballs over pasta with alfredo.  It was surprisingly yummy.  He did a beautiful job with the yard.  He mowed and weed-eated.  The patio area is gorgeous!

High today: playing in the baby room was extremely calm.

Thanks for listening to my short day…

Vino!

Well it’s really late and I’m E-XAUS-TED!  There’s not much to tell about today.  I played with Tellie’s kids.  I knew I was supposed to go at 2:30, that’s what the calendar said.  However I got an email cc’d from the teacher who was leaving early saying she had to leave by 2:20.  I emailed the AD and asked what time I should have been there and received no response.  So I thought I was going at the first time.  At 2:15 the DR brought it up and I panicked, mainly b/c I had the laptop on and running and had plans out to work on.  She commented that she could tell I was frustrated and I felt really bad.  It was more of a deer in the headlights panic, not an angry frustration.

The wine tasting was fun.  It was one of the easiest I’ve worked/attended.  I didn’t really have to work the room.  I stood at the table with the art silent auction.  I was able to walk away to get food and drinks without having to have someone relieve me.  I found a few wines I like, but left my silly book with all my notes in it somewhere.  I do remember that I liked the pink muscato, I think it was called Allure maybe.

The food was good.  There was pork tenderloin on biscuits, Asian potstickers, fried artichokes, fruit and cheese table with crackers/bread/pita, and monsterous cupcakes.  The chocolate one was ah-may-zing!  Fudge frosting down in the cupcake and large chocolate chunks at the bottom.  I’m going to have to figure out how to bake a sweet with unmelted chocolate pieces.

High today: wonderful evening at Vino.

Thanks for reading my short entry…

Terrific Tuesday

I had a pretty good day.  I woke up and enjoyed my cc and cantaloupe while reading a few pages of my book.  I wonder if I’ll finish the book by the due date?  If not I really hope I can renew it.

When I got to the building, my work building (early of course), I remembered to balance my checkbook so I could write the bills later and changed my Netflix account.  When I changed it there was a response stating that the changes would take affect on 10/20/11 not today.  I was a little confused b/c I know I get charged on the 21st of every month.  I called CS and the man fixed it for me since it just went through a little bit earlier, thank you NF CS man.  I also found out that when all the changes are complete I’ll log onto Qwickster to update and change movies on my queue AND my queue will be automatically transferred!

While I was taking care of business I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my CT was scratching through and changing some of my ideas around on our LP”s.  After clocking in we tried to talk about it but she was holding a child, ten month old, who didn’t want to stay still and listen to us and made it really hard for me to get my point across or to understand her.  Also the DR came in as I was reading my semi snarky email from the AD basically telling me I’m not going to get extra paperwork time.  It’s extremely humorous to me that the DR understands needs but the AD doesn’t.  It’s not that I really need extra time, I just need the time taken away replaced.  I don’t have the email here to copy and paste but it irked me greatly that she intentionally made our meeting during my paperwork time, she said so.  Basically the DR is going to try and let me get some makeup time.

Once I finally clocked in and tried to get some work done, in the workroom, I was not any where near able b/c everyone and their sister wanted to talk a minute.

The class was normal Tuesday chaos with so many adults.  The plus side is the parent who called yesterday and wanted to stay and play today couldn’t b/c of family plans not being in the right.

During my lunch break I think I’m going to try to spend 15 minutes on blogs and the other 15 on pinterest.  One of my friends posted some awesome food porn that I’m going to try to look at tomorrow and will probably repin.  I didn’t get to look at very much b/c the AT from Giraffes came in and told me all about her excitement over the last day.  I really like that she’s decided to confide in me, of all the people that she works with!  She’s having a horrendous time of family drama.  Let’s put it simply so as to not give away any details: roommates daughter had a baby, baby’s daddy went to jail (baby’s siblings daddy accused daddy of abusing siblings), bail set at $60,000, daddy’s mom put house on market and went to bail bondsman (which I learned how they work), and the whole family is now basically homeless not to mention the hospital might not let new baby go home with mom.  C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!

After nap/lunch break my little guy who I may have mentioned previously whose brain scan doesn’t match his abilities walked today!  That’s right he took independent steps!  He took three consistently three times!  OMG how freaking exciting.

I played with the babies today and have a little concern with K-Lee; she’s extremely fussy.  I got to stay in there and play until five.  I also had a few minutes of heart to heart with the AT in there which was really nice.

Back at the house the hubby was there!  Sometimes I don’t realize how much I really miss him until I see him again.  Cheesy, I know.

He washed the dishes and helped me pack lunch for tomorrow then I made dinner and watched what I think may have been the finale of Numb3rs (but that’s okay b/c this morning I put a movie and the newest season of one of our favorite shows up next – super excited about both).  For dinner I had faux lobster w steamed veggies.  I think my points total today was 22, maybe.

Well I need to pay the bills and go to bed, I’m pooped.  Oh yeah I think the cut I got at work on Monday may be getting infected. BOO

High today: a toss up – little man walking or hubby being home.

Thanks for listening to the semi awesomeness of my day!!!

getting creative

Today started weird.  I didn’t sleep all that great due to hubs being out of town and listening for Izzie.

Since I was lazy when I got home last night I had to make bfast and lunch this morning before work.  I discovered I’m short of fruits and will have to eat the same three fruits everyday.  I really need to go to the store and the store really needs to put some different items ‘on sale’.  Bfast was strawberries w vanilla carbmaster.  In my box I packed carrots, sandwich wraps, and three fruits.

The day was okay.  I had some trouble with the knee wrap and it was pretty strange feeling.  When I got home I noticed that it probably a little too tight, there were imprints.

The kids did well.  Majority of them slept the nonsleepers were peaceful and at least rested.  One of the parents hung around for thirty minutes after the room closed, which really cut into my time.  I also got an email today saying that I have to cover for the Rascals teacher on Thursday, and that cuts into my time too.  Also I have a meeting on Friday during my paperwork time, which also cuts into my time.  I emailed the AD and cc’d the DR stating this little tidbit and asked for more time; guess we’ll see if I get any.

I tried to rent another redbox movie, but there wasn’t any that screamed ‘rent me’.  So I returned my movie and came home.  I packed lunch for tomorrow and made dinner.  I made a dish I’m going to call sloppy pasta/spaghetti.  I made elbow noodles and tossed in a can of mushrooms and a half a serving of Manwich with a squirt of ketchup b/c it wasn’t saucy enough.  I also sprinkled some Italian seasoning and then topped it off with parmesan.  It came to a total of five points plus.  I liked it enough I’m going to make it again and let Aaron try it and tell me what he thinks.

I let Izzie out a little bit ago and noticed a little bit of blood spots.  I checked her out and one of her nipples or scars were bleeding.  I need to let Aaron know when he calls, I’m sure he won’t be worried about it, but he should at least know.

That’s it for today.

High today: a successful dinner creation.

Thanks for trying my recipe (you will right?!?!)…

on my own again, and this is what happens

Aaron left nice and early this morning and will be gone until Tuesday late night.  I got up at the same time and started my day.

I talked to dad for about an hour.  Then I sat around and read some more.

Carolyn called and I headed over to their place.  As I was leaving our roommate came home for a couple of minutes.  I chatted with her about my bottle ideas then played on the net.  I got to their place a little after eleven and sometime btwn one and two, I remembered/thought I’d left the stove on at home.  So I drove like a bat out of hades and almost wrecked a couple of times, but made it home safely to discover that I did not leave it on!  My thoughts the whole way home were of affording to refurbish the house and our pets being locked up and not being able to escape if there was a fire.

We didn’t go shoe shopping like I wanted, but didn’t think we really would when I got there that late and they hadn’t even started working.

I came home btwn six and seven, I can’t really remember what time it was.  I stopped at Kroger and got some yogurt, a handful of apples, and a movie out of the redbox.  I watched the movie while eating dinner.

The high today was still having my home and pets.

Thanks for listening to my uninteresting day, minus the small panic…

successful recipe

Today was extremely low key.  I woke up nice and early as usual.  I hung out on my own, read my book, looked at recipes, and ate some fruit.

When Aaron finally got up we watched Numb3rs.  For dinner I made a crazy recipe out of Carolyn’s book: ham wrapped bananas.  I know it sounds extremely weird, but it was good.  Kind of tropically.  The recipe said to bake it in a cream sauce, but that just didn’t sound good to me at all (not to mention the fattening-ness of it).  Instead I drizzled some of the leftover currant mustard and it made it!  Aaron liked it and said he’d eat it again.  Maybe next time we will put a little pineapple in with it and I really hope that I have some cloves.

We also watched Thor.  I need to imdb some of the characters.  I liked the movie and look forward to the next Marvel movie.

High today: a weird recipe turning into a success.

Thanks for checking in on me this weekend…

TGIF TGIF TGIF!!!!

Today was productive!  I got lots of work done.  I almost forgot to do my Contact Logs, but my CT helped me remember in time.  I didn’t cheat food wise, but did have two lovely large tasty cups of coffee with fattening cream.

When I played in the Lion’s room the AT actually stayed in there!  It was the first time in four weeks, I think.  I tried to assist in redirecting two girls who were behaving negatively.  The ‘typical’ child was intentionally antagonizing the other girl and I tried to correct em’.  The AT kind of scolded me, so from that moment I just clammed up and let her kids run like mad dogs.

I went to Green Hills medical place and got my leg checked out.  She said she didn’t think it was a pinched nerve and advised me to wear a brace for support.  YAYHOO!!!!

Hubby ate a late lunch so he wasn’t hungry I ate the last bit of brisket.  I had a few glasses of Kim Crawford and then we indulged with one another.

What a boring day huh?  I’m tired and ready to pass out.

High today: that I didn’t pinch a nerve.

Have a great weekend…

cupcakes and a movie

It’s late and I’m exhausted.  I’m hoping I get down all the important factors.

My cupcakes were pretty much a hit.  They all got consumed.  The AT in Giraffes commented about how much she dislikes icing, but could tell mine was home made and liked it.  YAY ME!!!  I’m glad b/c it was a ‘creation’ of sorts.  I made the fudgy caramel frosting on Tuesday, but messed up and made it too thick and there was no way I could spread/smear it.  So I attempted to make ‘fluff’ (ya know the stuff in Twinkies?) and discovered that my shortening was bad; however it was too late b/c I’d already put the damn stuff in!  So I took my ‘happy’ ass to the store and bought caramel ice cream topping and powdered sugar.  The icing I ended up with was tasty, too sweet for my taste, and not as fluffy as I wanted.  I mixed butter, powdered sugar, vanilla caramel creamer, and brown sugar Karo.  I put it in the old fashioned mixer and just added this and that until I liked it and though I had enough.  I ended up having a ridiculous amount left over and now I’m going to have to (read get to) make another baked good to top it with the icing.

I hurt my leg bending over to stop a twin from coloring on the book shelf.  It hurt yesterday, but I didn’t do anything about it just decided to stop bending in that fashion.  Well today I did it and my leg fell out from underneath me.  When I tried to stand up I couldn’t.  It also hurt when someone touched it.  I got the PT to help me out and she did a manual stretch on my back and advised me to stretch 10x for 10 seconds each, take ibuprofen, and ice it.  When I told my DR about (b/c it was a WC) her question was ‘what were you doing? were you working?’.  I guess she thought maybe I was just walking or something.

After work I went to Whole Foods.  I met Tiff and Kristine.  I ate off the bar (and got a huge discount b/c the clerk messed up).  For dessert I got a pecan pie cookie and a mini pumpkin spice tart.  The cookie was AH-MAZ-ING!  I could eat a six pack of those monstrous deliciousness.  Now I feel like I need to attempt to recreate it.

At the theater I got a coffee Americana and was impressed.  It was actually a decent cup.  I wish I’d had my sugar but oh well.  The theater was jammed pack.  The only seats that were ‘three deep’ were dead front, literally front row first seats.  I attempted to be bold and sit towards the back on my own btwn two strangers, but remembered that Kristine had my tart, so I headed down front.  Not to mention I felt awkward sitting up high without my gals.  The movie was good.  I’m glad I went and watched it.  I was even able to handle the front row.  Guessing b/c it wasn’t an action film.

Now I’m headed to slumber land.

High today: the cookie

Appreciate the positive thoughts towards healing/being okay…

made it through the day

I didn’t sleep all that well again last night.  However I was able to get out of bed and move without too much uncomfortableness (not a real word, but I’m using it).

For bfast I ate a few strawberries with vanilla carbmaster.  I read more of my book and it was interesting today.  I’m worried it’s going to take me forever to finish it.  For lunch today I packed my leftovers from Friday, minus the watermelon b/c it smelled strange.

I got to work and discovered that the dinner meeting I was supposed to go to on Thursday got changed from Rumba to Mafioza’s.  Since I’ve been there a handful of times and was really looking forward to Rumba’s I un-enrolled my rsvp.  Instead I’m trying to get a free movie pass to see the new Sarah Jessica Parker movie with Tiff.

The day had its ups and downs.  My belly had some weird moments that made me hunch over a few times, but I worked through it.  I hope it goes away and I’m back to normal tomorrow.  I didn’t get to make it through all my foodgawkers b/c there were just too many since I haven’t looked at them in two days.  One of my fav. bloggers announced her pregnancy in the cutest way.

During our lunch today my CT informed me that the floater is permamently in the Two’s room to help out daily b/c they need an extra hand.  It totally irks me, HELL-freakin-LO, we need it too!  Then to add icing to the neediness cake of the Two’s class the AT in there informed, late in the afternoon, that she gets help in the afternoon regardless of how many kids she’s got.  Basically it boils down to she gets assistance, ME, b/c she has ‘too many’ children with special needs to be on her own.  ERRGGHHH!!!  I’ve been w/ the company for five years and never once has the needs actually been considered in aftercare, it’s always been about the numbers.  Guess we’ll see how it works out.

While playing in the baby room, the AT’s little man worried me just a little.  He woke up crying after a really really short nap and had trouble calming down.  His cry was off and he had real tears, kind of like he was really hurt or upset about something.  It was extremely pitiful and I bet he and mom will be out in the next few days.

I talked to hubby today and he got good news about Izzie.  The vet said that her heartbeat sound matches the heartbeat to the touch (it didn’t last time, the touch was faster than the vet heard).  Her swelling has gone down, but not as much as the vet would like.  He gave us two meds, each one has to be given twice a day and one pill each (a total of four pills).  He also suggested us to give a banana a day for potassium, which is supposed to help the heart (I’ve never heard that, only that it helps with joints/bones).

When I got home I saw the three new videos/movies he bought at Wal Mart.  He also bought me this adorable basket to put on the front of my bike.  It’s got a handle and can detach for me to carry in to the store or wherever I go.  SUPER EXCITING!

He helped me make/prep my lunch for tomorrow.  He packed the carrots, weighed the chicken and put it into the container, and cut and bagged the tortilla.  I also attempted to make the caramel fudge frosting from Carolyn’s book.  It started out really nice and caramelly, but I was worried that it was going to run off the cupcakes.  So I added a little it more cream and ‘whipped’ it some more.  He suggested that turning up the speed would possibly add air.  So I did that and I think it just dried it out.  So now the frosting is set in a fudge state.  It tastes really really good, but isn’t spreadable.  I cleaned the spoon and beaters, put the frosting away, and walked away before messing it up too much.  Tomorrow I’m going to try to fold in some fresh whipped cream and a little bit more liquid.  I hope it turns out tasty and smooth, not grainy.  I’m also worried that I need more in quantity to top the cupcakes.  I’m hoping for at least 26, 12 for Amy and 14 for the teachers.

For dinner I ate my leftover chicken quesadilla from Crow’s Nest, which is where I’m thinking about suggesting to go to on Thursday before our movie (hoping I get to go).  I also drank another fourth of the coffee drink I made the other day.  Hopefully one to two points plus worth.

This is it for the day, I think.

My high today: hubby being so sweet with my gift and helping me with my lunch and other duties.

Thanks for reading through my page of nonsense and hopes…

my poor belly :'(

Today was pretty boring.  I woke up, if you can say ‘woke up’, I didn’t really sleep that much, and called out of work.  I tossed and turned all night and my belly felt AWFUL!!!  I spent the majority of my day hugging a pillow to my body.  I read a little bit of my book, watched/finished Hell’s Kitchen, and watched some Seinfield.  All I really ate today was some toast, a handful of grapes, some crackers, a few chips, half an orange, and for dinner a little brisket with some rice chips, and half a slice of pie.

Hubby called to ask if I cared if he went to NC till Sunday.  I told him as long as he took Izzie to the vet before leaving.  However when he got home he found out he doesn’t have to go to NC so he’s going to take her tomorrow afternoon.

That’s it, not much considering I spent all my time at home.

High today: hubby staying in town.

Thanks for checking in on me…

our day a decade later

Right now I’m feeling kind of puny, but I hope that I get all the important parts of the day down.

This morning I chatted with dad, nothing really important.  We talked for about an hour and then I called mom.  I started calling mom after dad at one point on Sundays, but she wasn’t all ways home.  I think I’m going to try doing it again; calling her once a week too.  She bought new tennis shoes (why are they called ‘tennis’?  it’s not like everyone actually plays tennis; I need to research that) and she thinks they may be hurting her.  She’s worn them and then the next day a different pair of shoes and her feet hurt.  She went to a clinic and the fill in doctor gave her some anti-inflammatory, but she’s thinking about going to her doctor and maybe a foot specialist.  She was a bit upset about having to pay three doctors visit bills, but I told her that it’s better to pay that then to not be able to walk, since feet are one of the more important body parts a person has.  Her yard sale didn’t go over that well.  Some lady swindled her on a punch bowl and something small.  The bowl was priced at 4.00 and the other thing was priced at .50.  When they lady paid she gave mom the money rolled up.  Mom got distracted or something at the same moment the lady paid and when mom went back to count the money upon unrolling it she discovered that there was only 2.50.  Marsha also got duped.  Some person switched price tags.  They took a .25 tag off a ratty shirt with a hole in it and stuck it on a shirt with a 2.00 tag.  People are scandalous!  Mom also got herself a fish tank that she’s super excited about, but I think David is against it.  When I asked her about it she talked about it strangely, I think they must have gotten into an argument about it or something since her demeanor changed over the phone.  She already knows what kind of fish she wants and is going back in two weeks to pick em’ out.  I’m looking forward to seeing it.  Also the neighbor, the real owner of Red, has a stray kitten or two, maybe more, and one of them has been visiting mom and eating Fancy’s food.  Mom tried to give it to a coworker, but the coworker’s husband said they couldn’t have it and she brought it back to mom.  Mom and coworker have agreed to fix the kitty and share in the fee.  I said she should ask the owner about it, but mom said she wouldn’t b/c they didn’t say anything to her when she had all those kitties from the crazy cat lady’s daughter and she thinks the mommy kitty is one from that bunch.  What to do, what to do?!?!  I had to end the conversation b/c my phone was beeping at me that it was going to shut down.

After talking to them I opened the wonderful cookbook again and looked at some recipes.  I really like this book!

I got the hubs out of bed at 11:00 so we could go to Chafin’s.  I wore my cream-in-black with red circles and triangles and he wore a matching polo we took out of Ross’ bedroom.  Tiff called me to find out what we were wearing and when they got there they were coordinated with us!  Her dress was adorable!  It was a black dress with red, cream, blue, orange, and maybe green dots in spirals.  LOVED IT!  David had just a black polo on.  We would have made an awesome photo shoot.

The barn had two theaters; a large one up front and the small one we were in.  I guess the front one is just a dinner theater instead of ‘interactive’.  We sat a six top table with a couple who’s getting married on October 1st at Two River’s Mansion.  The guy out of the couple was the first chosen to play a character; Neil Burger – the groom and then the rest of us at the table got to play his fraternity ‘brothers’ from Lambda Lambda Lambda.  Our job was to be the most obnoxious over exaggerated group at the mock wedding.  It was fun.  We figured out who the murderer was (Neil b/c his wife to be was having an affair with his best man (the murdered guy)), but so did another table and their answer was more complete so they won the award.

The food was good, at least while I was eating it.  I think something may be disagreeing with me now since my belly feels weird and I ache.  I enjoyed the corn, BBQ, faux peach cobbler, and pickled okra (which is what I’m tasting now).  DH ordered four beers and I had a glass of wine.  He also ordered an extra dessert of crème brulee and it was good.  They undercharged us for the dessert, so that was a plus.

After the show we sat outside and chatted for a little bit.  She sort of applied/inquired about getting a job there.  They are starting a new show in a couple of weeks and the detective/Bob said he contact her and if he forgets to call him.  She also got an agent, our server.  I’m a bit jealous but hope she gets it.  It would be so fun to go and see her in action.  However if she gets a full time job she wouldn’t continue at the barn.  She also told me that she wants to get more involved in a church.  I told her I would check with my DR about their church and let her know.  I hope I remember and get a chance to talk to the DR tomorrow.

On the way home we stopped at Wal Mart to get dog food and a movie.

Back at home we watched our movie.  I LIKED it!!!  I was unsure how I would feel about it since I tend to not like ‘pre’ movies in saga’s/series (esp the Underworld one).  This one made me really wish that they would make more in this series.  I also really like how they linked in some of the more popular characters that are known from the other movies: Wolverine and Mystique.

I think it’s strange that my belly fells so bad.  Aaron has snacked on pistachio’s and Frito’s since we got home and had a whole pack of broccoli and cheddar rice.  He had way more food than I did and the whole dessert minus the three bites I had!  All I could stomach tonight was a string cheese and that was kind of challenge to get down!  I don’t even think I at all that much.

We also watched the next disc of Hero’s.  I really wanted to continue but need to go to bed so I can be well rested for tomorrow’s day.

High today: double date was a blast – Oh I forgot to mention that Tiff and David are game players and we’ve got a night in the works to get together to play and grill out!  WOO HOO!!!  I’m so excited and can’t wait, it’s been too long since I’ve had game buddies.

Thanks for letting me ramble…

roller coaster kind of day

What a day!  I woke up at 2:00 this morning and couldn’t go to sleep to save my life.  So I sat up and read my book for a couple of hours.  Close to 4:00 I was able to go back to sleep, only to get up at 7:00.  DH was supposed to be at work at 6:00, but I messed up his phone while playing with it last night so his alarm didn’t go off.  Luckily the crew hadn’t left the shop yet so he made it in to work.

I showered and primped for the day ahead.  Then I went to Wal Mart and shopped.  I was only going to go for the necessary items in the flyers and price match but got distracted by the clothes.  I also wanted to get Aaron the new X-Men movie, but thought it was a better deal at Kroger so I didn’t get it.  While looking at the movies dad called again to talk to me about the frosting (I called him this morning and asked him about caramel icing/frosting, substituting coffee creamer for liquid in cake, other baking questions, and told him about Izzie).  I tried to walk around Wal Mart while on the phone, but couldn’t keep the connection so I had to stand still while talking to him.  By the time I got done shopping and home it was 10:30.  I had to put the groceries away and pack to go to IL’s.  Carolyn called at 11:00 to make sure I was okay and I told her I got behind.

I rode the bike as planed to their house!  I had to break my agreement with Aaron.  I rode the bike down Ellington Pike.  As I went up/down
Trinity Lane
I discovered there were too many mailboxes and posts to ride the bike.  I didn’t want to walk the bike the whole way so I went the Pike instead.  I thought I was safe in walking it on the ramp and I stayed in the shoulder and looked both ways when crossing the on and off ramps.  By the time I got to their house I was pooped!  I got reprimanded by Dickie when I told him I took Ellington.  Coming from the country I didn’t know all the driving road rules but your not supposed to ride unmotorized vehicles on highways and main roads.  Woops!  When I told Aaron he wasn’t as mad as I thought he would be.  He just told me that your not supposed to ride bikes on places where the speed limit is higher than 40 MPH.  Live and learn.

When I got to their house Carolyn shared her new book with me and I found it extremely interesting.   There were some foods I’m not supposed to eat, but will not stop!  I can’t give up yogurt, cc, cantaloupe, and all pork products and my black pepper.

She also showed me her awesome go to cook book for a frosting recipe to use on Amy’s cupcakes Wednesday.  I think the recipe in there is by far my favorite, but I still looked online for some ideas.  All the ones I saw online had you make caramel and then turn it into a buttercream or had lots of powder sugar.  The one in this cookbook is supposed to make a fudgy icing/frosting.  I’m thinking it will be creamy and if it’s too thick then I’ll try folding whipped cream into it to make it soft and fluffy.  I also really like the idea of using the creamer in the icing with the brown sugar corn syrup.

Then I checked my emails and read some back logged recipes.  Lindsay called around two ish and we were supposed to go to the Greek Festival.  However after an hour had passed Colin called Aaron to tell me she wasn’t going to make it.  I was bummed, but oh well, maybe next year.  I was also worried since she didn’t call me herself.  I msgd Colin and asked him to have her call me when she could.  When she called I found out that she was literally around the corner on James Robertson.  Her phone, which she was using as a GPS, had died and she was lost.  She doesn’t/didn’t have a car charger nor did she have her regular hand held GPS to find her way.  Once she found the interstate she went to Carrie’s and called Colin.  She didn’t know anyone’s number by heart other than his.  She also had a headache from driving round in circles in the area so she went home.

Aaron and I were going to go out to eat but since he ate hot chicken so late he wasn’t hungry at dinner time.  Also he thought since we were going to tomorrow we didn’t need to go again tonight.  Instead we stopped at Aldi’s so I could get cupcake wrappers.  They didn’t have any so he took me to Kroger.  Thankfully they did (forgot to mention that Wal Mart didn’t have them when I was there earlier) and they were on a dollar for fifty.  I tried to find the X-Men movie that was listed in their circular but all they had was the original movie.  I went to get a rain check from the adorable little customer service male (I’m urged to call him a boy but that would just be insulting and he’s not a man or a guy).  When he was writing it he wrote the more expensive price in small print and that’s when I realized the cheaper price was for JUST the DVD.  The small print, which I thought was the original price, was the price for the BR/DVD combo.  So I just wasted all that time trying to be sweet and get hubby something special.

At the house we watched the last disc of Numb3rs in this season.  The last episode was such a cliff hanger, as were all the episodes on the disc, but now we have to wait for the next disc b/c it was the end of the season.  Charlie proposed and Amita didn’t answer, the show just ended with him on one knee and her with a strange I’m not sure what to say kind of face.

For dinner I ate a steak salad with a glass of wine.  I finally opened my fav. s. blanc.  Still really tasty but awfully similar to the Lonely Cow brand.  For dessert I really wanted something icey and frozen, but I didn’t feel like getting the blender out and making a mess or cleaning it so I opted for an iced coffee drink from Costco.  The package says to use ¾ cup water or milk and some ice.  I ended up mixing the whole package with two cups water, some splashes of coffee and chocolate liqueur, and a whole tray of cubes and it was still too rich!  I didn’t want the whole glass so just put it in the fridge.  I hope when the ice melts it doesn’t ruin the flavor too much.  I also need to remember that next time I want it just iced I can use a scoop/tbsp instead of the whole pack with the water and ice!

Well hubs asleep so I’m going to read a bit and then tuck in.

High today: riding the bike.

Thanks for letting me tell you about my adventures…

TGIF & DD

Today was a strange day.  I woke up feeling fine.  I had yogurt with a banana for bfast.  I didn’t make coffee b/4 leaving the house since I planned on doing it at work.  However when I got there the OR team had already done it since they were having a meeting so I took a cup of theirs.

I tried to view all my back logged food blogs, but didn’t quite get done.  By the time my CT got there I felt in a daze like fog.  I didn’t fell bad physically but I was slow.  I was having trouble reading and processing and typing.  I was really worried I wouldn’t finish my monthlies.  She and I chatted and I worked.  Pleasantly enough I did complete my monthlies as well as fix our notebook with our new kids that start next Tuesday.  That’s right I said kids with an ‘s’.  We have two kids starting on one day!  I’m not looking forward to it at all.  It esp. blows for my CT b/c they are both on her caseload which means she needs to get their paperwork started.

I also got all my contact logs done as well as the new daily sheets for the kiddos.  I’d like to think that I was productive during my time, but I’m sure there’s something more I could have done to be more efficient.

Katie brought in some baked goods and I ate a few.  Then I played with the big kids for an hour.  While we were on the playground I actually ran with Bowen and some of the boys.  We ‘raced’ to the rock on top of the hill.  The first time we ran I just let him go ahead like an adult would do to indulge children.  However the second time I decided I would give him a run for his money.  Well fate intervened and I fell, that’s right I fell like a kid.  I was running up the steps in flip flops and felt it coming.  There was no stopping it.  All I saw before me was my head cracking open on the water table at the top.  So I tucked and fell and took it like a champ.  None of the kids stopped to check on me to see if I was okay or anything.  It was even more embarrassing b/c today was grandparents day and I’m almost a hundred percent sure an adult saw me wipe out.  I also walked around with the favored kid in the room and she asked me what I was doing as she walked holding my hand.  Then she got on the trike and pedaled like a demon.  It was adorable and made me want to ride bikes.  I sat on one of the minis and tried to pedal with her but it was hard for my big body on such a tiny ‘toy’.  Riding the trike made me want to ride bikes for real, so I called Aaron at sometime during the day and asked him to fix up the bikes for this weekend so I could ride.  He said he would (and he did).

When we got back to class four kids out of nine (I think) had visitiors.  The g-parents sat at the table with their kiddies.  Two of the families actually ate with them.  The other two just watched and took pictures.

I wasn’t hungry at my lunch time b/c of the baked goods I ate so I only ate my carrots.  Then I went to the babies to play.  Nothing majorly exciting happened there.  Next I went to the Lions.  It’s my regular schedule on Friday’s.  This Friday and the past two have been kind of annoying.  Last Friday I was left alone with all nine kids by myself.  The Friday before I was there with the floater as today.  Upon arrival I discovered that both teachers were going to be out again.  The LT was going to be out the hour and half I was scheduled to be in there and the AT was going to be out for two and half hours.  I had to tell her that I left at three, she knew, but since the floater was still there it would be okay.  I’m not sure why this rubbed me wrong.  I guess I just thought that if they were regularly this low then there really is no reason why one of the teachers shouldn’t be getting out daily to do work and not need as much time so I could go somewhere else I was needed.

N-E-who after that room I went to the toddlers, where there were four kids and got to play in there alone again.  I guess I think it’s odd that I have to be in the room alone with other teacher’s children.  This room wasn’t so bad.  I actually had me a couple of mommy moments.

When I got off I went around and pawned off the leftover cupcakes from the g-parents celebration.  The AD was just going to throw them in the trash!  AT in baby room took three, AT in toddlers took a bag (with six I think) and three as well as two of three bowls of icing, and the rest went home with the semi homeless wanderer from OR.  The AD also said we could take boxes of cake mix home so I jumped on that wagon too.  I gave some boxes to the teachers and took home three (two of which I gave to my friend ‘hey hey to you’) and kept one for myself.  My friend was really excited, she said she had a cookbook from the lady on the cover (or maybe you saw her show, I can’t remember).

When I was finally done saving the food I went to the restaurant for our double date.  Before going in though I parked my car and walked to the bank to finally deposit those two checks I’ve been hording (unwillingly mind you since I tried to deposit them once already).  Taking advantage of N’ville Originals I ordered the chicken quesadilla (my app), salmon salad that was a special (my entrée), and key lime pie to go (my dessert of course).  I intentionally only ate a small part of the app b/c I knew it would reheat well and wanted to eat all my entrée b/c it would be as good leftover with the thought that I would eat half my dessert.  Well since I ate all those damned yummy baked goods today I couldn’t even finish my salad!  So I ended up coming home with three boxes.  However now I have two extra meals I won’t have to cook for myself for the next couple of days!  Aaron ordered the calamari, steak fingers, and coconut cake.  He ate all of his food minus the few bites of snuck (and the rest of his fries I finished off).  Since Crow’s nest has one of the best HH specials I ordered a new s. blanc at half price.  It was tasty enough; I’d order it again.  I also ordered a glass of the special red wine which was priced at 5.00 so I thought I’d get it for half off, but I didn’t.  I guess since it was already marked down they didn’t want to mark it lower maybe?  I didn’t say anything since the dessert guy, or maybe the waiter, was so generous with my slice of pie and there was a weirdness about the change (IMO).

I enjoyed our double date and wish we did it more often; at least once a month.  We talked about getting together for a bonfire/grilling next Saturday and I hope everything pans out smoothly.

When we got home Aaron and I had another ‘dessert’: leftover icing.  Then I called Carolyn to see if I could come over tomorrow.  She said sure.  I let her know that I was going to ride my bike over so it would be between 10 and 11.

This is all for the day.  My high was our double date.

Thanks for letting me tell you about all the fun stuff today and not laughing out loud at my fall…
