give thanks

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!

I’m stuffed.  Been awake since regular time.  Spent the morning getting ready to go to Paris for the holiday.

Since I wasn’t having actual dinner w mom tonight I pigged out!

Doubtful I’ll do entries over the weekend, but know that I’ll get back to the grindstone as soon as I can.

Enjoy your holiday and hope that you get to spend lots of quality time with the people you care about the most.

back in the baby room

The day at school was decent enough.  We were low in numbers and the ones that were there behaved nicely.

We were kind of low in numbers and I got to play with the babies the last hour.  It’s been so long since I’ve been in there.  It was so easy though; there were only three babies.  All I did was lay on the floor and literally play with them: clap hands, stack toys, and practice reaching.

The PC was nice enough and allowed me to leave at 5:00 to go to ‘book club’ dinner.      We met at Cheddar’s.  At the end I realized I’m not so sure I’ll be part of it, if it continues to exist that is.  I realized I don’t have too much in common with the ladies at the table and I felt a bit awkward.  I was the oldest person of five and didn’t/don’t have the tiniest inkling of the momminess they all have.  Also they all started talking about their past together from high school and some people they all know currently, and of course I haven’t a clue who they were talking about.

On the way home I tried to talk to Aaron about it but he wasn’t too interested in my needs/subject matter.  I also realized while driving that I don’t have too many people I have stuff in common with.  Man am I in the wrong town or something.

I know the next meeting we have will be a dinner too, it should be our x-mas dinner.  I hope that dinner is better and I leave a bit happier.

To stick with a positive note, glad that we were low in numbers.

Hope tomorrow is easy too….

thank you GOFOBO

LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!  I told Aaron when I got home ‘I want to own it’.  I’m so thankful I got free passes.  Hope I can get my hands on The Hobbit, x em’ for me.

Go see this and get back to me.

Christmas shopping

Today was way more busy than yesterday!  I slept in an hour or so, YAY for me!!!!  I didn’t spend too much time dilly dallying, I jumped up, ate yogurt, and headed out the door.

My day was full of shopping: Christmas and grocery.  I used almost all my GC from last x-mas to buy gifts for peeps from Target.  Spent more than I though at Costco, got some beautiful large Jonagold’s.  Was super quick at Publix and Aldi.  I was a bit bummed Aldi didn’t have the coffee I wanted yet.  And finished my day at Wal Mart.

That’s it, really.  I rented a redbox.  It’s got that actor I’m really digging currently.  I totally need to IMDB him and see the other things he’s been in I’ve seen.

Dinner was a smart ones: broccoli alfredo w some chicken and extra broccoli.  Now I’m waiting for my water to get hot so I can have a mocha.

Best part would be marking off some of my gifts.

Looking forward to a short week…

a memorable kinda day for me

Today was an extremely different kind of Saturday for me.  I slept in till 9:30!!!  I think that’s the latest I’ve slept in years!  It wasn’t a sound sleep, I woke every hour or so, but didn’t want or have to get out of bed.

After going through a little bit of mail I called mom.  We talked for 3 hours!  There was like a thirty minute break, but I don’t think we’ve ever talked that long.  We talked about all sorts of stuff: x-mas gifts, thanksgiving plans, shopping, redecorating, life, and many more other topics.

Then I tried to find a movie at the redbox, but no luck.  Instead I watched two that I had at home that I haven’t seen in a while.

I enjoyed a black bean patty w zucchini and red bell pepper for dinner followed by a tasty spiked coffee.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll pay my bills and do a bit of shopping, x-mas and grocery.  Aldi should have cranberries and I can’t wait to have banana cranberry oatmeal soon!

I loved the quality chat time w mom.

How was your Saturday???

kitty dr appt

This was a busy nonstop Friday.  As soon as I got to the building I did the usual and barely finished in time to get to class.

This kid that’s been out for a week and half or so came back today.  I was a bit perturbed b/c I figured he’d have a rough one considering his parents have been out of town and when they finally get back they bring him to school!  But he did alright.

I didn’t take an actual lunch break and that was helpful, I got a bunch of stuff done for the week after Thanksgiving.

I thought I was going to be shy an hour and half on my week, but I was only short half an hour when I got ready to leave at 1:30.  However b/c I wasn’t sure about the addition I didn’t really leave till 1:45.

I took Bella kitty to the doc’s and they said what I thought: just allergies.  If she starts to have mucus then it’s infection.  For the time being I can just give her 2mg of chlortabs, which I have in my medicine cabinet.

When I got home I was going to just bite the bullet and do my paperwork, but the laptop had trouble loading so instead I took an hour long nap.  The laptop was still bonkers when I woke up so I just watched some movie and ate dinner.

I borrowed a couple of movies from the library and watched this one.  I liked it.

Time to go through nightly routines now.  Best part was knowing that my kitty was okay.

Have a great weekend…

WTF, where's the celebration?

Today I went back to working my normal schedule till 5:30.  Hubby left at some point and I actually don’t remember!  I woke up thinking ‘I didn’t think he had to be at work till after me’.  I finally finished my last borrowed book during bfast.

Man was I glad that my CCT3 was back today!  I was so very tempted to run up and give her a hug as soon as I arrived, but I don’t think she’s a hugger kind of gal.  Instead I did my usual of checking emails and blogs.  Nothing worth buying today, especially after realizing I need to start saving on Sunday! We had four peeps out today, but I okayed it with our HR lady to just take a 30 minute lunch since the DR said I could leave early on Friday for a dr’s appt.

My CCT3 seemed to enjoy her training.

The kids were back to pretty much normal, we were down one so Thursday should be a more accurate judge of behavior.

During the kids lunch I heard that our campus Thanksgiving luncheon had been canceled so I had to hunt the answer down.  Come to find out it has been!  I’s so bummed!!!!  I already had me a dish picked out and everything!  So I took it upon myself to check around w the staff to see if they were interested in doing a staff potluck luncheon instead.  The majority of the gals were, but when I went to ask the HR lady her opinion/desires she told me to put me thoughts on hold for a couple of days.  I told her I needed to know sooner rather than later b/c peeps needed to go shopping if they were going to participate and it was this Friday! She’s supposed to let me know what her thoughts were tomorrow so I can finish trying to get it all together.  The PC mentioned ‘who’s gonna do the protein source’, which I of course didn’t think about at all b/c I never eat the turkey b/c I think it’s icky!

The rest of the afternoon was pretty normal too.  The only weird part was when a parent, the parent who posted negative comments on FB b/4 asking ?’s, & the one I saw on Friday @ the wine tasting mentioned letting her know about any other tastings I come across.  She seems ‘cool’ enough, but I’m still really weary b/c of that action.  I also think I did an excellent job trying to get our most high maintenance parent to start bringing in cartons of milk rather than the ‘illegal’ metal drink canister.

On my lunch break I successfully reserved some books at the library, but I forgot to pick them up after work.  I realized right b/4 I got on the interstate, but didn’t feel like turning around to go back and get it/them.  So I’m going to have to delve back into the Inkheart series again in the a.m..

So I swear yesterday hubby told me he only had to work a half day, but around four msg’d me he’d be home late and would keep me in the know.  I was a bit confused.  Come to find out the place he had to work had lots of issues and he got home around 8:30.  Since he had to work all day I took care of the dishes while making dinner after prepping lunch for tomorrow.  While eating dinner I fixed my nails and watch a b-rate sci fi flick with the chick from Battlestar Galatica.

If you wanna know my eats:
Bfast – one of my best apple cinnamon oatmeal (Honeycrisp, cinnamon, sugar, salt, butter extract, and caramel coffee sweetner)
Lunch – 2nd half of Kickin’ Buffalo Chicken Soup
Snacks – tangerine, apple, one ritz cracker, & ½ serving grapes
Dinner – supper yummy mango jalapeno chicken sausage w roasted zucchini and cauliflower as well as a glass of vino and spiked coffee w chocolate for dessert.

I was the most happy about my CCT3 returning to work today!
Have a happy HUMP DAY tomorrow….

night of babysitting

Today was my last day to work the early shift and to work with the floater, which I might add kinda $u(%$ a$$!!!!  She hadn’t been too terrible last week but really pushed me today.  She’s pregnant I get that, but man does she stay in the potty for a long time!  I was so used to CCT3, 2, & 1 being quick.  Also floater just kind of failed at helping all day: while doing mats she wanted to help (she asked) when obviously the kids needed to be supervised, while I did the morning circle she stood over at the counter and checked her emails and did whatever-in-the-hell on the laptop, and at nap I specifically asked her to sit next to one child and told her help him but when I got back she was sitting next to a kid that can go to sleep on their own and was already asleep!  Additionally I didn’t get the 30 min period to do paperwork like my CCT3 and I split. I might go insane and snap if I had to work w her for one more day.

The kids were pretty much ok, except for during the 30 sec warning to clean up.  Some of the rough boys have decided to run and shoot and jump, basically act a fool, and I snapped.

I also talked to the DR about going to the doctor’s (really for Bella Kitty) on Friday and she okayed it, but left early b/c she was sick so I don’t know if she got my message or not.  I made an appt during nap time for Friday at 2:20.

After work I did an impromptu babysitting for the Mitchels and had so much fun!  They live out by the zoo I didn’t have to be there till around six so on the way I stopped at Essex and Aldi.  The essex had a large back side w clothes, shoes, and home stuff, but really small shelves w random supplies.  I wish they’d mix this back with the front from the one in Rivergate!  Oh man was I in trouble.  They had a whole container full of X-mas socks for a dollar!  Dude I could have bought them for gifts for work!  Ohs well.  I did get mom a new bath robe and found some fun red and gold shimmery, hopefully knee high socks to wear incase I do the Santa Run again.  I should ask Ashley M if she wants to do it w me.   At the grocery I got my regular veggies as well as two bags of honeycrisp and had to have one as soon as I got in the car.  Oh yeah I purchased two pomegrante’s as well, let’s hope they are yummy enough for all the work it takes to eat the suckers.

When I got to the Mitchels I found out they were eating at Carraba’s.  It’s their seventh anniversary as well as Steven started a new job and now has a 7:00 to 4:30 schedule instead of the third shift!  How exciting.  Paula had already made dinner: baked chicken and pears over spinach topped w a blue cheese and celery salad w cous cous on the side.  The celery and blue cheese topping was addictive!  The pears had a great flavor, a little soft for my liking, and the chicken was just chicken.  The directions said to cook the chicken first, then put the pears tossed in honey and other stuff in the pan w the chicken and finish cooking.  However the chicken and liquid from wherever made the chicken a little boring in flavor.  There was just watery juicy stuff in the pan.  The recipe said it should be a pan sauce, but it could have been thickened up on the stove to pour over.  Or the chicken should have been drained first or possibly removed from pan before adding the pears.  I’m not sure if the water came from the meat or the fruit?!?!?!

Anyways it was fun sitting at the table w em while they ate.  I gave little guy a two bites of everything except the cous cous, he loves it.  I told them both they had to clean their plates in order to get a special treat after dinner.  I’d say about twenty or so minutes after I found little man in the cabinet getting almonds.  I had to stop him in and redirect him back to the table to eat off his plate, but he didn’t want any of that.  We tried to watch a streaming show, but couldn’t figure out how to work it so instead we tried playing Chinese Checkers.  It was fun.  A.L. seemed to really enjoy it, but the board got bumped twice and all the balls went rolling and lost their place so we called it quits and put A.H. to bed.  Oh he pooped his pants and let me know as soon as he was finished.  I made him actually dump it into the potty which mom thought was hilarious!  He did well doing it on his own.  I hope it doesn’t backfire later.  After putting him down I read with A.L. and he heard and screamed and cried almost the entire time.  When I went to talk to him he just buried his face.  He stayed awake till they got home and was able to come out of the crib.  A.L. was asleep though.  I’d say that was probably one of the easiest sitting jobs I’ve done, mind you it was only for a couple of hours though.

High today is knowing my CCT3 will be back tomorrow!!!

Thanks for listening to the mundane of today…

radio day

Nothing out of the norm happened today.  Aaron had to work so I was home alone.  I didn’t go over to the IL’s and be a mouse potato, even though I thought about it.

Instead I stayed home.  I chatted w dad, did some laundry, tidied a bit, and finally put together the bills and figured out how much I owe Aaron for the cc bill.  I was a little unhappy w the no, but I know it’ll change in a couple of weeks once I pay the bills.  So he is going to take my info tomorrow and pay his student loans off w half the amount I owe him.

I didn’t even turn the TV on, I just listened to the radio all day till he came home btwn five and six!

I also enjoyed doing my nails again.  I filed em’ down nice and short and painted them a shade of orange golden yellow and topped em’ w the orange shaded glitter.  I think they look like orange leaves or the pumpkin spice hand soap I’ve got in the bathroom.

All we did for dinner was eat his bday lo’s.

Not too much huh?!?!  Best part was just relaxing after a long week!

Hope you had a nice weekend…

birthday celebration

Today was nice.  I got up around 7:30.  I didn’t do too much, just put away some clothes and read my book a little and started to clean the bed linen so we cold put warmer sheets on.

I headed of to the IL’s around eleven or so to be a mouse potato.  It so strange how quickly Dickie’s Mac loads all the pages vs the computers at school!  I was able to read all the back dated blogs I follow except for the one who’s picture wouldn’t load and all the foodgawkers.

Aaron had to work today and was supposed to be off tomorrow.  However he called around one and left me a msg that if his mom could swing dinner out tonight he’d be able to make it, but not sure about tomorrow b/c they didn’t finish the job and are going back and he doesn’t know how long it’ll take.  So I logged off and went to the store w her.  She’s making lumpia and pancitI’m glad I went with her to the store.  She thought it was going to take a long time to make b/c the last time she made them she didn’t have any kitchen equipment.  However I helped her realize she could use her new kitchen aid stand to grate, chop, and grind all the stuff she needed!  She ended up grinding the chicken and pork to make it more fresh!  The lumpia was delish, pancit was a little bland.  I think the noodle ratio was way too high for the meat and veggies.

However I’m glad I went w her to the store.  We went to Inglewood Kroger.  I found a rasp/cranberry greek yogurt, some yummy looking soup, and PB2!!!!  I’m super excited about the PB2.  I’ve wanted to order it since I stumbled upon it eons ago, but didn’t think I’d need four containers (which is the minimum you can order).  I’m not sure if I paid too much or not though.  Kroger’s was around 4.50 and I know the net had it for 4.00 plus tax and S&H so hopefully it’ll equal out esp since I can buy them one at a time!  They also had the chocolate version, but I left it on the shelf.  I also found the potato starch Mike has been looking for!  I almost bought it, but I’m gonna wait till either next week b/4 Thanksgiving or get it for an x-mas present.  I couldn’t remember what dad was looking for so I had to msg him and ask.  It’s short or medium grained wild rice.  I personally don’t think it exist, but hopefully I can go to Whole Foods soon and check it out there.

We also watched the new Spiderman movie.  I liked it!  I liked the actor that plays Peter way better than Toby.  This guy was a little bit more awkward dork science guy, rather than the fifty’s pop and snap your finger’s dork Toby presents.  I did think it was strange that Emma (I think that’s the chicks name in the lead woman roles) looks like a ‘Mary Jane’, but had a diff name in the story, wait a minute I just realized he broke it off w her, but hinted at getting back together at the end.  Maybe he hooks up w ‘MJ’ later on in the series?

Alright, I’m ready to go to sleep!  Stoked I got caught up on my blogs!  Now I just need to post all my entries.

on my own, I'm so grown!

So the only thing I have to tell you about is my wine event.  It’s late, been a LONG week, and I’m ready for bed.

There was sooooo much wine!  I didn’t expect there to be that many since it was in the lobby of the car dealership, but man was I wrong.

I did try something new: bone marrow.  Not necessarily new to the world or to foodies, but def new to me.  It was in a smoked mushroom and bone marrow mac and cheese.  Luckily it really just tasted like smokey richness of mushrooms.

The other funny memorable happening was I ran into that parent who slandered us on FB.  She was really nice to me again.  I wonder if she’s truly comfortable w us now?

I have a curious ? for you: if you know or have met me would you say I’ve got a memorable face?   What about personality?  I’ve been to my fare share of tastings, this was the first I went to on my own though, and I’ve been a pourer at tastings.  There were at least seven people who remembered me from around the building.  I started out trying to be conspicuous so I wouldn’t stand out since I was alone, but it didn’t work.

There was a super friendly lady that allowed/helped me keep the bottle with the flat bottoms for future crafting projects.

Alright, I’m out now.  Loved the tasting and hope I get a discounted ticket next year!

Have a great weekend….

Italian w the Ladies

Today was a super long one!  The chick who has been out sick finally returned to work.  I thought it was due to her pregnancy but she just had a cold.  Wish I’d call out for a cold.  Speaking of calling out I continue to forget to ask the DR about my gift cards for September and October!

The kids weren’t anywhere near as terrible today as they were yesterday, at least during the morning.  Even though that chick was there I’d much rather have worked with my old CT1 (which I did yesterday).  This girl doesn’t move or do as much as she should/could.  Also I was really pissed at the kitchen prep lady.  When she relieves us to go potty she comes in and just watches the kids.  They could literally murder one another and she’d just stand there and watch   Well I said something to my old CT and finally asked her (the kitchen lady) to do something simple and basic: just stand here and talk to the kids about what these pictures are.  Her response: that’s not what I’m in here for!  WTF!!!!!! I don’t think you’re in here to let the room go to hell and back! I think she’s getting lazy in her old age, she’s close to retirement-ability.

I actually got out to do paperwork even though it was about half an hour late, once again better late than never!  This actually casued me a lot of stress.  I’m supposed to turn in the goal sheets from October for the kids that are on my caseload, but I can’t find the jump drive or any of the paper documents the previous girl was responsible for.  I’ve looked on two drives, two computers, and all the easily accessible files!  So I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to start afresh and create all my kids sheets for September and October AND November!!  Not sure how on earth I’m going to do that considering we only get the 30 minutes in the evenings!  Also the PC lost the files I turned in so I had to reprint them.  Additonally when I went to check to make sure my old kiddos got their October sheets handed in I discovered that their new teacher f’d up!  She handed in November’s sheet!  Aye aye aye!  The PC said she wasn’t going to worry about it even though it’s an easy fix, I just have to do some more explaining.

I got off on time again today.  I’m really loving getting off at four, just a shame it’s not that way everyday.  Anyways, when I got home I put away lunch and cleaned all the dishes.  Then got ready to head over to Allison’s.  I had to stop at Aldi on the way to get the fresh heads of romaine and everybody on Gallatin and their siblings and children were on Gallatin!!!  I was the last one to arrive, which I hate, and had to find some crazy parking.

My time there was great.  I really hope that we do it this way more often.  It was an Italian potluck.  There ws so much fab food: caprese skewers, bruschetta, olive tapende, tons of bread and cheeses, Italian meatloaf (which I loved) and browned butter pasta (that was a little dry).  I also enjoyed a nice glass of chardonnay!  That’s rare!  We also had another red and then a merlot w dessert; Publix chocolate cake.

I really enjoyed the company too and I think that I’d get along really well with Al’s BF Donna.  We had so much in common with our personalities.  We talked about the Cali trip in April and now I need to double check with the DR if I can get those dates.   If I can I need to start saving $$$$.  The plane tickets are 300 each way, 250 to 350 for boarding, plus car rental and food and drinks.  So close to a grand for five days.  I’m hoping that I’ll be able to use our miles.  Allison said she would use hers for me, we’ll see.  I really want to go!  I also found out that Allison doesn’t really talk to AJ very much since their trip to the beach b/c of something she said or did; I’m not sure what I couldn’t get it out of them without it seeming to obvious; but I’ve always wondered what they saw in her!  Not that she’s bad, but I was def shocked about their bond that happened so easily!

Allrighty, of course the best part today was ladies night!!!!

Let’s hope tomorrow is nice….

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

just needed to get it out!

I know I don’t usually do an entry on Wednesday’s, but today was a hell of a day.  It was the first one that I got to work the early shift which was nice.  I got there a bit early and luckily my old CT2 was there already.  I was able to check emails and what not as well as gather a few supplies for class.

The first two hours were easy and the kids were well behaved.  However the circle time before gym (10:00) was HELL!!!!  For some reason the kids refused to sit and listen to anything.  I tried all sorts of techniques and finally got them to calm a little bit after acting out “Giant/Beanstalk” story.  The only thing that got them calmed was pretending to have a magic duck they were teaching our lesson to.  I wish I could find a duck to take tomorrow to help them through circle time.

I got off at four as planned and stopped at the store.  I spent way too much time there.  I was only going to get a few supplies, but ended up wasting an hour at least!

Once I got home it was close to the normal time and I was pressed to complete everything: lunch, salad dressing, sides for dinner, and croutons (which I didn’t get around to).  Hubby was home at the same time and helped make dinner by pan frying the deer cube steaks.

Gonna tell you my eats since this is supposed to be short:
Bfast – banana and blueberry greek yogurt
Lunch – coconut curry mango chicken salad
Snacks – a few candies, cheese cubes, crackers, and a pear
Dinner – deer steaks, mashed cauliflower, asparagus, two glasses of wine (so far).

High point is making dinner w the hubs.

YAY for hump day’s!!!

to us

Today was probably the most laid back day on our entire vacation.

I slept in till 8:30, which is really 7:30!  Aaron slept till close to 11:00.  we had lunch at the deli in St. Elmo’s and it was yummy.  I had the caprese wrap and added onion and spinach.  The homemade potato chips were awesome!  Aaron had a monster of a sub.

Then we headed out to Rock City.  It was gorgeous!  I of course got several photo’s!  I’m sure I drove him batty with all the times I wanted to stop and take pics.  I think it’d be gorgeous to come back during the Garden of Lights over the holiday.

The funniest ting about the trip there was upon arrival.  This gorgeous scenic place out in GA and there was a Starbucks across the road!  It was also humorous b/c there were signs that pointed people to Starbucks.

We had a little time btwn when we finished the tour and our Admiral Dinner Cruise and we used it to watch the boat peeps and stop by some of the little businesses set up carnival style.

I enjoyed this cruise much more than the fall one.  The food was better and we actually enjoyed each other’s company better.  I also snuck in my little box of wine in the camera bag and enjoyed it after my first ‘bought’ one.  We sat next a couple who I think may have been just meeting or haven’t been together long.  They met in Chattanooga.  She was from Atlanta and he came from Washington.  When we were inline for food I overheard him say to her ‘I guess you’re a ranch girl huh’, which is totally something you say when you first start dating.  However they didn’t act like newly dating peeps.  I’m so nosy and would love to know how they met!

I guess that’s all.  Of course I enjoyed our dinner cruise the most today.

Have you done a dinner cruise anywhere???

least fav day

Once again I’m gonna tell you about our day on or Honeyversary.

Today our main fun was The Incline Railway and Ruby Falls.

The Railway was a bust to me.  We paid to ride a rockety ‘trolley’ thing up a hill, took pictures at the top, and then rode it back down.  The down side is knowing that we could have driven our car the exact same path and seen the same sights (at least from start to finish, but not between).

We did have a yummy lunch at their version of Baja Burrito.

Ruby Falls was a bit more interesting.  I think I prefer Mammoth Caves, at least what I remember.  RF’s was a little hokey and definitely touristy.  I did get what I think might be a lot of awesome pictures though.

Afterwards we wasted time with just a little bit more sight seeing.  Then finally I got hungry so we tried finding a dinner place.  It took a while.  We didn’t want to spend too much money and the menu had to please us both.  We finally ended up at the boat’s Burger Bar.  The burger’s were okay.  Patty was way smaller than the bun.  The bartender, a stand in, SUCKED ASS!!!!  However the owner’s son’s GF was there and she was a nice Chatty Cathy to talk to.  She was also nice enough to order me a beer I wanted to taste and wouldn’t let me pay her back (she got half off).

Maybe I’ll post some pictures and link back some day?!?!?!

I loved spending another day w the hubby in our new year of marriage.

Thank you for stopping in on TGIF…

1st day of year 4

Today is/was the first day of our fourth year of marriage together!  I decided to go ahead and still get up when my alarm goes off at it’s regular time, but was still a bit tired since it’s five our time.

I tried to connect to the net and view blogs in the dark corner of our room so as to not disturb hubby, but couldn’t do it.  I finally got hungry, seven here six our time, which is about right on time.  It was a bust!  They had apple and orange juice, coffee, bread for toast w butter and jelly, danishes, frosted flakes and raisin bran, and little chocolate and powdered donuts.  There was also a microwave, which I guess was for the pastries.  It was really hard to make healthy choices with all that.  In my coffee I ended up using real sugar, they only had the pink stuff!  The coffee was good till about the last fourth and then it started to taste bitter or something.  I ate two bowls of cereal and extra milk as well as several (maybe eight) little donuts b/4 I got full!  I know I’m on vacation and shouldn’t worry about it, but man does eating things like this put a toll on my skin!

When I got back to the room Aaron woke up shortly after and we laid around and watched TV for a little bit.  I found this new to me show (link Clueless from MTV) and it was F-U-N-N-Y!!!!  Aaron and I were both laughing out loud at several parts.

We headed out to our fall boat ride w just enough time to scoot in, since we had to redirect tour path!  I’m pretty sure we were the youngest people there.  I think I got several good shots of scenery and surroundings.  Lunch was okay: roast beef, chicken (way too salty), green beans (addictively yummy in butter), red potatoes, rolls, and cheesecake (I got a slice each of pumpkin (x2 one for me one for hubs), chocolate, and regular w cherry (for hubby).  I was pleasantly surprised that I liked all of them (except I haven’t eaten my pumpkin one yet, thinking bout saving it for bfast!).  I know they are premade store bought ones, but they were so nice and creamy and rich.  I even liked the plain one which says a lot b/c I don’t usually like just plain w no extra flavorings.

After the boat trip we were going to go to the Aquarium, but by the time we could find parking (back in our free lot from yesterday) and ride the little shuttle all the way back we would only have an hour and a half, two hours max b/4 having to get back to the restaurant I wanted to visit.  So instead we went to the urban winery, the bread store, and meandered around for a bit.

This was when Aaron told me he was upset about me not spending the entire time with him on the boat.  I just thought he was a bit pouty from not getting to go to the Aquarium.  So we hashed it out and got back to traveling.

The place I wanted to go was a bust and we had to search our a new place to have dinner.  We ended up at some sushi place downtown and it sucked compared to our regular joint.  The food was okay and I tried a new fish.  I really like the way they presented it and had Aaron sneak the ‘jewel’ back home with us!  The server sucked and didn’t know too much of anything when asked and had to check on all my questions.  Aaron told me I was too rough on servers since I used to be one.  However I know what they should be doing and she wasn’t, as well as the chick from last night.

After dinner we stopped at the liquor place on the corner down the road and I got me a small box of red, but haven’t opened it yet.  Hope it’s yummy!

Now I’m ready for bed (and maybe a foot rub?).  The best part today was knowing we started another year together.

How was the first day of November for you???
